Prolight + Sound 2022 Created a Spirit of Optimism
After a break of two years , Prolight + Sound succeeded in bringing together companies and professionals from all segments of the industry in Frankfurt , Germany from April 26- 29 , 2022 .
“ By all pulling together , we have achieved something that , at the beginning of the year , many people thought would be impossible : the companies and associations of the event and media technology sector joined forces with us to show once again how much life and positive energy is to be found in this industry . We all can be proud of this result . Prolight + Sound not only launched a vast range of new and impressive technologies onto the market but also generated decisive impulses for ways in which the sector can equip itself to face the challenges of the present and future ,” says Wolfgang Marzin , president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt .
The sector rewarded this willingness to focus on a physical event and personal encounters despite the uncertainties prevailing only a few months ago . “ Both exhibitors and visitors were hungry for spontaneous meetings . The high quality of the fair is also reflected by the sales figures reported by our members . In other words , the fair is the ideal starting place to recapture the all-important trust in our industry for the future ,” adds Linda Residovic , managing director of the German Media and Event Technology Association . In total , this year ’ s Prolight + Sound featured 391 exhibitors from 32 countries , with registration coming in at 19,121 attendees . Organizers says the visitor structure showed a further increase in the proportion of managers compared to previous fairs . Participants came not only from all over Europe but also from North and South America , Asia , and Australia . According to a poll of visitors , around twothirds said they expected the economic situation in the industry to improve in the future – a positive sign for the next Prolight + Sound , which will be held from April 25-28 , 2023 .
Jay Perry Joins AVL Media Group as Audio Product Technical Support Specialist
JAY PERRY
Montreal-based AVL Media Group – the NorthAmerican distributor of Lab Gruppen , Klark Teknik , Turbosound , Midas , Tannoy , Zero-Ohm Systems , and Spotlight – has appointed Jay Perry to the position of audio product technical support specialist .
Perry comes to AVL from Points East AudioVisual where he was owner and chief consultant . The company specialized in design , sales , and installation of professional audio , video , and lighting systems throughout the Atlantic Canada region . In his new role , Perry is responsible for working with consultants , designers , dealers , and integrators in Canada and the United States to support all the AVL professional brands .
Commenting on the appointment , Perry says , “ I love diving in headfirst to solve client problems and solve them with creativity using the best brands available . I ’ ve known Steve [ Kosters ] and Andrew [ Hope ] for many years and have watched AVL grow into one of the premier distributors in North America . Needless to say , I am very happy to be onboard .”
