Waves SoundGrid Extreme Server-C DSP Unit
Waves Audio has released the SoundGrid Extreme Server-C, a plug-in processing server for
both studio and live applications.
Designed to be compact and powerful but light and robust, this DSP unit can process hundreds
of SoundGrid-compatible plug-ins in real time, live or in the studio, taking half the width of a standard
rack. The SoundGrid Extreme Server-C allows users to mix live shows or track overdubs in the studio with
real-time plug-in processing. This is possible thanks to its ultra-low latency: as low as 0.8 ms at 44.1, 48, 88.2,
and 96 kHz. With a 2U chassis, the Extreme Server-C is half the width of a standard 19-in. rack. One server can be rack-mounted using rack ears,
or doubled up for redundancy with two units side-by-side using one rack shelf. Additionally, the Extreme Server-C fits inside carry-on luggage.

Proel S Series
Subwoofers
Proel has released the S Series of
compact and powerful subwoofers
designed to complement the com-
pany’s full-range speakers. The S Series
includes 10-, 12-, 15-, and 18-in. models.
All of the S models feature high-
excursion woofers in a hybrid band
pass (HBP) configuration. This design
provides a higher efficiency compared
to direct radiation subwoofers and
creates a better coupling of the tuning
ducts with the external air, reducing the
distortion and the air turbulence for
a more defined sound and deep and
punchy lows.
The new class D amplifier modules
with SMPS (switch mode power sup-
ply) can generate a large amount
of continuous power in a compact,
lightweight, and reliable package (up
to 1,200 W for the 18-in. unit). All the
modules include a stereo preamp
section and 24dB/oct. crossover filters
with selectable frequency and PHASE
reverse switch.
