Waves Audio has released the Abbey Road RS124 compressor plug-in . The plug-in is designed to give music the sound of Abbey Road RS124 compression – the legendary tones heard on every Beatles recording made at Abbey Road . With two distinct flavours to choose from , this classic tube model is the only software emulation of the ultra-rare RS124s approved by Abbey Road Studios . Available tube flavours include Studio , a more aggressive sound with faster attack and release times ideal for tracking ; and Cutter , which utilizes a more relaxed attack and release geared toward bus compression and mastering .
Also included is Super Fuse mode , which matches the release to the attack time for even more character and aggression . Sidechain and mix knobs as well as mid / side processing options make for all-around flexibility and a smoother workflow . The RS124 compressor is included in the Waves Abbey Road Collection bundle .

Yorkville Sound is now shipping the EXM Mobile 8 , a wedged , lightweight three-way battery-powered speaker with Bluetooth technology .
The EXM Mobile 8 contains an 8-in . woofer and a coaxial mid-range and tweeter . With a cabinet designed to be displayed flat on a table top surface , tilted up vertically , wedged horizontally , or mounted on a standard speaker pole , the EXM Mobile 8 is designed with versatility and everyday use in mind . The speaker has three inputs and an internal mixer , positioning the unit as ideal for solo performers , DJs and small ensembles on the move . Using all channels at max output still allows for many hours of battery performance .
The EXM Mobile 8 can be linked to multiple EXM Mobile units with an XLR cable to run all speakers simultaneously . By using the link feature , all three inputs on each speaker are available to the user and can be summed together .
