The NAMM Show Kicks Off a New
Decade
The 2020 NAMM Show, which was held from Jan. 16-19 in
Anaheim, CA, kickstarted a new decade of musical products, pro
audio, and entertainment technology innovations, as well as
business and education opportunities for its diverse attendees.
The show welcomed over 2,000 exhibitors, representing 7,000
brands across the entire NAMM Show campus. Of the 115,888
total registrants, international members accounted for nearly 20
per cent growth over two years.
More than 200 pro audio sessions
engaged emerging and established
professionals from all aspects of pro-
duction and performance, presenting
a wide array of opportunities to grow
their careers.

AES Academy at NAMM (formerly AES@NAMM) returned for its third year, with hands-on training, technical presentations, and career
development from leading pro audio experts. In total, 11 Academy subject areas – from navigating a career in audio to technical sessions
covering line arrays, consoles, and more – were presented by top thought-leaders, including Sylvia Massy, Leslie Ann Jones, Karrie Keyes,
and Mark Frink, among others. Other initiatives included Main Stage: Studio and Main Stage: Live, focusing on those respective branches
of pro audio.
For those seeking big-picture sessions with big names, TEC Tracks uncovered topics ranging from “Mastering in L.A.” to “Recording Vocals
Outside of the Studio” with world-famous producer/engineers like Joe Chicarelli, Ken Caillat, and others.
The first three days of the show also included the annual Loudspeaker System Showcase, with manufacturers demoing their flown and
portable innovations side-by-side in the convention centre arena.

APB-DynaSonics Relaunches in Partnership
with Contact Distribution
After a recent change in ownership and in partnership with Toronto-based Contact
Distribution, analog console manufacturer APB-DynaSonics has announced the
relaunch of a range of its most popular products.
Chuck Augustowski, who founded the company along with John Petrucelli and Taz
Bhogal in 2004, has returned to the helm and is responsible for driving the acquisition
by the new owners and initiating production of the APB-DynaSonics product line.
Augustowski has engaged Contact Distribution to handle the relaunch and distribu-
tion of APB products throughout North America.
