The presentation ceremony took place at Harris Institute in Toronto, a music industry and audio production school he founded in 1989. JOHN HARRIS & LISA HARTT Cashbox CEO and Editor-in-Chief Sandy Graham presented the award to Harris, who gave an emotional and heartfelt speech thanking those who helped him in his personal and professional life along the way. RCF Group Acquires DPA Microphones RCF Group has acquired Denmark-based DPA Microphones from The Riverside Company. In 2017, two prominent European private equity players, Palladio Holding and Amundi Private Equity Funds, invest- ed in RCF Group with a minority stake in order to support and enhance the group in its growth plans. Following the September 2018 acquisition of EAW, the acquisition of DPA represents a second important milestone on RCF group’s growth path. CITT/ICTS is bringing its fifth annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference back to the Palais des congrès de Montréal from April 17- 18, 2019. Expo-Scène is the only major Canadian event dedicated to professionals in the pro audio, sound, lighting, audiovisual, video, and multimedia technology markets. “For our fifth edition of Expo-Scène, we are delighted to welcome new exhibitors and new technologies and products that will be showcased during the two-day event,” CITT/ICTS President Angela Drainville tells PS. “We will be offering hands-on training workshops prior to the show as well as presenting our educational seminars, renamed TEC Talks, which provide the sharing of expertise on AV integration, lighting, staging, pro audio and sound, business solutions, and other related topics with the professionals in attendance.” Organizers are expecting around 75 exhibitors and over 1,700 visitors from across North America. The TEC Talks program will include a pre- sentation from LS Media on immersive audio, as well as from SFM/Digiflex on the future of signal transport in live production. GerrAudio will be hosting Digico console training and there will also be a panel discussion on environmental responsibility in the live entertainment industry.
