SIGNALS New Trade Organization Created for the In-Ear Monitor Industry In an effort to bring together in-ear monitor man- ufacturers, dealers, suppliers, and end-users, a new organization has been founded called the In-Ear Monitor International Trade Organization (IEMITO). Riedel Communications Hires Jason Ross as Canadian Sales Manager Riedel Communications has hired Jason Ross as its new sales manager for Canada. Based in Toronto, Ross reports to Rich Zabel, VP of sales for Riedel Communications North America. Ross comes to Riedel from Applied Electron- ics, where he served for JASON ROSS almost eight years as a senior account executive. In that role, he oversaw and delivered complete broadcast system projects for high-profile clients. “Jason comes to our team with an outstanding track record of B2B sales and project management for the broadcast and entertainment sectors,” says Zabel. “He has a deep commitment to customer re- tention and maintaining positive, lasting customer relationships. Inspiration Abounds at AES New York Convention Under the banner “Inspire,” the 147 th Audio Engineering Society International Pro Audio Convention returned to New York City’s Javits Center from Oct. 16-19, 2019. Leading audio innovators shared their knowledge and experience alongside an exhibition featuring the professional audio industry’s latest innovations. At the Convention, more than 750 audio experts presented in the more than 330 sessions in the All Access Technical Program and the 130 sessions on the Exhi- bition Hall’s Inspiration Stages and in its topical theatres, alongside 236 exhibiting brands. “No time in AES’s history has seen a more diverse, innovative, and forward-look- ing program,” Convention Co-Chair and AES Secretary Valerie Tyler says. “We ex- panded the comprehensive technical program to include more genres, a broader range of new technologies, and a wider breadth of voices than ever before.” Registration for the convention again topped 14,000, which includes a 20 per cent increase in individuals opting for an All Access badge for the full Technical Program. Renkus-Heinz Promotes Jim Mobley & Chad DeFranco Renkus-Heinz has announced two senior promotions: Jim Mobley is now VP of operations and Chad DeFranco is now engineering manager. Mobley became the company’s first application engineer in 1999, later becoming senior application engineer and, most recently, technical sales manager. Mobley led Renkus-Heinz’ pre- and post-sale technical and design support; taught EASE, EASERA, and SysTune classes; and created the Iconyx Dealer Certification program. DeFranco first joined Renkus-Heinz in September 2018 as a loudspeaker systems engineer. He grew up in the audio industry and went on to found DeFran- co Productions, where he designed and installed sound-reinforcement and lighting systems.
