ART HP-1 In-Ear Monitor Amplifier
Applied Research & Technology ( ART ), a division of Yorkville Sound , has developed the HP-1 in-ear monitor amplifier . This new addition to the ARTcessories line is made to be affordable , reliable , and compact .
The HP-1 is a battery-powered headphone amplifier that aims to deliver quality performance to portable applications . Providing a high output level when used with a variety of different headphones , the unit is designed to be easy to use for in-ear monitoring applications . The HP-1 is affixed with a belt clip and weighs in at just over half a pound . The entire unit can be worn discreetly on stage by a performer , used in studio applications , or for personal listening .
The HP-1 is packaged in a rugged extrusion , with heavy-duty jacks , including a locking 1 / 4-in ./ XLR combo input jack . Powered by two AA batteries , a single use can exceed 40 hours .

Focusrite Clarett + OctoPre
Focusrite has expanded the Clarett + range of premium-quality USB audio interfaces for PC and Mac with the introduction of the Clarett + OctoPre . Building on the Clarett OctoPre , it offers improved converters and professional-quality mic preamps .
The Clarett + OctoPre adds eight high-quality mic preamps or line-ins / outs to any ADAT-equipped recording interface and offers an upgrade to the AD / DA converter chips compared to the previous OctoPre . This means a higher dynamic range , an ultra-low noise floor , ultra-low distortion , and clearer recording quality . One way that Focusrite has achieved this is by focusing on the converter chips and microphone preamps .
Eight flexible channel inserts let users track through their favourite outboard components and capture that gear ’ s character . Connecting the Clarett + OctoPre to a Clarett + 8Pre via ADAT provides 16 channels for recording . The Clarett + OctoPre also works for tracking drums , mixing livestreaming performances , connecting to analog synthesizers , or just upgrading a desktop interface with more I / O . Additionally , all-analog circuitry with relay control emulates the ISA 110 mic preamp from the Focusrite Studio Console with an Air mode that switches the input impedance and adds two cumulative high shelves for up to a 4dB boost in the high frequencies to add clarity and presence to recordings .
