Registration & Proposals Open Now for AES ’ s New York 2022 Convention
The Audio Engineering Society ( AES ) has opened registration for the AES New York 2022 Convention , taking place at the Jacob Javits Center from Oct . 19 – 20 , with pre-and post-show activities on the 18 th and 21 st , followed by an online component on Oct . 26 – 27 .
For a wide array of attendees , AES New York 2022 will offer targeted content and opportunities . Along with reconnecting with colleagues , clients , and friends and making new acquaintances , the highly anticipated return to the in-person AES Convention experience will feature a comprehensive selection of workshops , panels , demonstrations , training , research presentations , student-focused sessions , and special events in its Technical Program , in addition to the exhibition floor filled with the latest gear and offerings from top brands in audio .
AES New York 2022 offers several registration options : All Access for admission to all convention events and sessions , in-person and online ; Online Only registration for exclusive access from anywhere , in real-time , on Oct . 26-27 and in replay through Dec . 31 st ; and a free Exhibits + option for access to the in-person exhibition floor and related sessions . EAW Adds Richard Muggle as Service & Support Manager
Eastern Acoustic Works ( EAW ) has hired Richard Muggle to the position of service and support manager . In his new role with EAW , the company says Muggle will oversee and manage the department to ensure customer satisfaction .
Muggle ’ s addition to the EAW team marks an expansion to the brand ’ s client services . “ As EAW continues to enhance its customers ’ experiences , we are pleased to welcome Richard into the EAW family ,” says T . Muggle comes to EAW from Numark Industries where he served as project manager of Alesis Drums . During that time , Muggle oversaw all aspects of construction from concept to mass production . He also worked with various teams to maintain schedules and meet deadlines .

RIP : Industry Veteran Bil VornDick
Music Row veteran Bil VornDick died on July 5 , 2022 , at age 72 , less than a week after he ’ d been diagnosed with cancer . VornDick was a producer / engineer who was renowned for his recording studio skills , particularly in folk , bluegrass , Americana , and
BIL VORNDICK acoustic-music circles . He worked on albums that earned more than 40 Grammy nominations and nine wins . His clients included Alison Krauss , Doc Watson , and Charlie McCoy . He had served two terms as the chairman of the Nashville chapter of the Audio Engineering Society ( AES ).
VornDick was also an International Advisory Council Member for the Playing for Change Foundation , a founder of the Nashville AES Legends in the Round , and was working as the founder / chair for the International Entertainment Industry Education Exchange Program ( IEIEEP ), a United Nations and UNESCO partnership for the exchange of students and professors for worldwide education on intellectual property rights for music , film , art , literature , and software . Additionally , VornDick was instrumental in the creation of the annual AudioMasters Benefit Golf Tournament , the primary fundraising event contributing to the Nashville Engineer Relief Fund ( NERF ), which was designed to assist members of the greater Nashville audio community in times of personal or family crisis .
In lieu of flowers , a donation can be made in Bil ’ s name to either NERF or MusiCares .
