Neumann KH 750 DSP Compact Subwoofer Neumann has released the KH 750 DSP compact subwoofer. It is ideal for smaller rooms and for complementing the company’s KH 80 DSP studio monitors. The KH 750 DSP has a unique and flexible 2.0/0.1 Bass Manager, allowing the subwoofer to be used in many different system configurations. On the back panel, there are analog and digital inputs and outputs, four routing modes, and adaptable acoustical controls. The Neumann.Control App for the iPad gives access to many additional functions inside the subwoofer. The 10-in. long-throw driver has a large magnet, linear motor design, and a very stiff pressed steel basket. As subwoofers are usually placed on the floor, a robust grille protects the driver from accidental damage. The well-braced cabinet has a sealed design that brings faster transient response. The two analog XLR inputs and outputs are balanced, and the 192 kHz/24-bit digital input can accept AES3 and S/P-DIF signals. With Avatus’s IP technology-based mixing console interface, there is no need for a centre control section. The 12 colour-coded faders, two 21-in. multi-touch displays, and 48 dual concentric encoders per unit can be combined to form sizes ranging from 12 to 96 faders. The chan- nel parameters’ colour coding guides the user through the functions of the mixing console. On each multi-touch display, audio channel parameters can be controlled in a large detailed view and the monitoring functions or current status of audio channels can be called up. Thanks to removable metering displays and reduced overall depth, the Avatus can also be used in smaller rooms and offers a clearer view of what is happening on stage. With the remote control via an integrated browser application, the user has an additional tool, for example for setting up loudspeakers on or in front of the stage or to accompany the rehearsals directly from the auditorium.
