PRODUCTS Clair Brothers C10-TrueFit Line Array Clair Brothers has expanded its C-Series of loudspeakers with the C10-TrueFit line array. The C10-TrueFit is a double 10-in. format midsize line array. Clair TrueFit waveguides are configured, continuously-variable waveguides designed-to-order. A TrueFit system design is meant to reduce energy wasted on walls and effectively extend the stereo image over a greater audi- ence area. With fewer lateral reflections, it improves focus and intelligibility. System tuning is also faster and easier because the acoustical problem of geometric divergence shading is solved with the TrueFit 3D acoustical solution. The C10, like the previous C12 and C8, also features a new transducer technology that offers significant weight reduction and a reduction in amplifier channel requirements. This enhances the ability for the line array to be digitally beam-steered in the vertical plane with F.I.R. processing. The standard C10 factory waveguide is 100 degrees horizontal by 15 degrees vertical, but a range of horizontal waveguides between 70 and 120 degrees (in 10-degree increments) are also available. UWB Wireless Microphone System Alteros, a division of Audio-Technica, has released the GTX Series L.A.W.N. (local area wireless mic network) ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless microphone system. The GTX Series L.A.W.N. UWB system is a broadcast/live performance solution designed to offer immunity to RF spectrum regulatory changes, bandwidth loss, and channel crowding. The system is a fully-digital 6.5 GHz solution that uses pulsed RF rather than a modulated carrier signal. This enables easy setup of the L.A.W.N. without the need for frequency coordination, database registration, FCC part 74 licenses, or support equipment. Fitting into modern work- flows, the operationally cost-effective L.A.W.N. system supports unlimited repeat deployment (studio-to-studio and location-to-location) of 24 simultaneous, high-quality, low-latency (< 3ms), uncompanded 48 kHz/24-bit audio channels in any indoor or outdoor broadcast or performance environment in an easy-to-set-up system. With up to 64-way diversity and direct digital delivery of audio, dropouts and other typical RF anomalies are nearly eliminated. Available system components include the GTX3224 control unit, GTX24 body-pack transmit- ter, GTX32 transceiver, GTX24-HHP (performer handheld) microphone transmitter, GTX24-HHB (broadcast handheld) microphone transmitter, and a direct-to-fibre option. Audio-Technica MicroSet Headworn Microphones Audio-Technica has introduced the BP892x, BP893x, and BP894x MicroSet headworn mi- crophones, which are updated versions of the BP892, BP893, and BP894 models. Primary improvements include detachable cables and more secure ear loops for comfort and fit. All models will be available with a variety of terminations for wired Audio-Technica and third- party wireless systems, and in black or beige. Audio-Technica’s high-SPL BP892x MicroSet microphone features a subminiature omnidirectional condenser capsule that delivers intelligible, natural audio with a flat, extended frequency response that is ideal for stage and television talent and lecturers. The BP893x MicroSet, with its unobtrusive 0.2-in. boom, is a high-SPL omnidirectional condenser headworn microphone that offers under-the-ear place- ment, along with clear, natural vocal pickup. The high-SPL, low-profile BP894x MicroSet subminiature cardioid condenser headworn microphone hooks behind either ear and delivers a flat, extended fre- quency response. It features a rotating capsule housing with talk-side indicator for ideal polar pattern placement and rejection of outside noise, with improved gain-before-feedback when used with live sound systems and stage monitors.
