A look at this year ’ s edition of Canada ’ s leading entertainment technology show

If there ’ s one lighting and sound production convention in Canada that the entertainment industry at large has its eyes on and ears towards year after year , it ’ s Montreal ’ s EXPO-SCÈNE . The Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology ( CITT / ICTS )’ s annual show is one of the most hotly anticipated events in the pro audio , sound , lighting , audiovisual , and multimedia technologies districts , for good reason : according to the company , EXPO-SCÈNE is the only show of its kind and calibre in all of Canada . This year ’ s EXPO-SCÈNE takes place April 13 and 14 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal , and in addition to featuring over 75 trade show exhibitors and an estimated 1500 attendees from across North America and Europe , will also include educational TEC Talks on the latest topics , demo rooms showcasing the most coveted technology on the market , and networking opportunities for attendees , exhibitors , and industry professionals .
Professional Sound caught up with CITT / ICTS National Coordinator Monique Corbeil to get the low-down on what to expect this year and what went into planning the current edition of EXPO-SCÈNE .

PS : Tell me about just the kind of start of the preparations for EXPO-SCÈNE this year , what they looked like , and what the vision for this year was .
Corbeil : I think coming back from COVID , being shut down for two years , last year was really a great show . So , the companies all came back and all that . This year , things are a little bit different . We ’ ve noticed over the year , some companies have merged together , and some companies have disappeared from the landscape and from the industry , for different reasons . So that is changing the landscape of the industry a little bit . Our show also timed
