CITT / ICTS Reveals Plans for Further Online Meetings & Events for 2021

Following its cancellation of Expo-Scène 2021 , which was scheduled to take place on March 31 and April 1 in Montreal , CITT / ICTS has laid out its agenda for the coming months , with a variety of online events and activities .
First , the organization is continuing to hold its monthly CITT / ICTS Members Check-ins , which are about checking in with industry members and making sure that no one feels alone and isolated . These monthly meetings are about how members are really doing and how the organization can provide a true sense of community . Check the event calendar on the CITT / ICTS website for future dates .
As well , CITT / ICTS hosts two monthly online roundtable discussions in collaboration with PMArts & TDArts ; the Education Roundtable and the Re-opening Roundtable . These meetings have proven to generate lively discussions held amongst educators , students , and professionals from all spheres of the live performing arts industry . Audio recordings of past discussions are available online .
Starting in April 2021 , CITT / ICTS will host a series of online TEC Talks . These are short educational seminars presented by industry experts on diverse subjects , ranging from copyrights obligations for livestreaming to event liability insurances in a post-pandemic world .
The next edition of CITT / ICTS ’ s annual Rendez-vous conference will be held online from Aug . 9-12 , 2021 . Like the 2020 edition , it will offer a mix of roundtables and panel discussions on current topics related to the industry along with compelling educational sessions , as well as the New Product Showcase and Swag Bingo night .

Erikson Appoints Jesse Bartkiewicz as Maritimes Product Rep
Jesse Bartkiewicz has been appointed as an executive Maritimes product representative for Erikson Pro , Erikson Audio , and Erikson Commercial .
Bartkiewicz joins Erikson with 18 years of industry experience , including an extensive background in studio production , broadcast ,
JESSE BARTKIEWICZ and live sound , as well as completing an audio engineering program at Recording Arts Canada . He also has retail experience , having spent more than a decade with Long & McQuade ; first in Brampton , ON and then as the PA rental manager at its flagship Toronto location , before ascending to the head office as the company ’ s national pro audio buyer . He relocated to the Maritimes in 2018 , where he has since been the audio specialist at Long & McQuade Charlottetown prior to his transition to Erikson . Revered Audio Innovator Rupert Neve Passes Away at 94
Rupert Neve , an icon amongst the professional audio community for his boundless contributions to the industry , passed away on Feb . 12 , 2021 , at the age of 94 . A statement on Neve ’ s website assures that Neve “ remained in great spirits to the end , enjoying his life in Wimberly , TX where he and his wife Evelyn have lived for 27 years .”
A lover of electronics , music , and the intersections between them , Neve founded multiple companies during the course of his 80-year career , including the original Neve Electronics , as well as Focusrite and Rupert Neve Designs alongside his wife Evelyn . Neve and his designs are responsible for shaping the sound of recorded music as we know it today , having made such ground-breaking innovations as the large-format mixing console and 500 series hardware module . Additionally , his preamplifiers , equalizers , and other hardware designs are the most sought-after in the industry , and have been since 1961 .
Throughout his career , Neve was universally recognized for his contributions to pro audio , earning a multitude of distinctions including a Lifetime Achievement Technical Grammy Award in 1997 , Studio Sound magazine ’ s Audio Person of the Century Award in 1999 , an AES Fellowship Award in 2006 , and 16 TEC Awards with Rupert Neve Designs .
Neve is survived by Evelyn , his wife of nearly 70 years ; five children , Mary , David , John , Stephen , and Ann ; nine grandchildren ; and five great-grandchildren . His unmeasurable impact on professional audio , generations of engineers and musicians , and millions of listeners of recorded music demonstrates a legendary legacy that rings louder than most .
