Sonarworks SoundID Reference Calibration Software
Sonarworks has launched the new version of its speaker and headphone calibration software , SoundID Reference ( now formally known as Sonarworks Reference ). It adds new features and usability updates including Custom Target , Translation Check , improved system-wide drivers for Windows users , and other enhancements to the user interface .
In SoundID Reference , using the Custom Target feature , creators now have the ability to make custom adjustments to the target curve in real time . Also , they can manually select the frequency range that the calibration will be applied to . As well , the Translation Check feature realistically simulates an array of different devices and device classes . Users can access a library of 20 predefined simulations that allow them to check their mix in different listening environments without leaving their seat .
Additionally , SoundID Reference reshapes the system-wide audio calibration experience for Windows users by introducing two system-wide driver modes . First , the SoundID Reference Windows audio device insert offers a simple and straightforward experience by allowing the user to skip the use of a virtual device driver . This mode also enables near-zero latency . The second is the new virtual ASIO-to-ASIO driver , which is the best choice for ASIO users who still want their calibration to be done through the Reference app and not the plug-in .

KV2 CS Series Loudspeakers
KV2 Audio has introduced the CS Series loudspeaker range that is designed to deliver ultra-high vocal intelligibility and music reproduction in a compact form factor . A variety of flexible mounting options and easier connectivity make the CS range a good candidate for the corporate and rental markets .
The range consists of three two-way passive loudspeakers ; the compact CS6 , the medium-sized CS8 , and the larger CS12 . Voiced for speech and utilising KV2 ’ s analog delay line first developed in the ESD series , the company says these discrete solutions are able to cover surprisingly large areas with relatively few boxes . For rapid deployment , the focus was placed on easy handling and quick connectivity . Accessories include a KV2 pole mount for speaker stands , as well as vertical and horizontal brackets with a precise tilt angle setting . The M10 fixing points cater for other standard accessories , such as spigots , clamps , and couplers .
The low-profile trapezoidal cabinet design offers 35- and 55-degree angles , which also makes the CS range ideal for personalised monitoring situations . The speakers also feature a 1 +/ 2 + speakON connection , switchable in the field , allowing an additional speaker ring to be run independently down the same cable . The CS6 also features speakON connectivity in the top and bottom alongside the rear panel for neater cabling possibilities on a truss .

Celestion TFX0515 Small-Format Coaxial Driver
Celestion has released the TFX0515 5-in . ferrite magnet coaxial driver . With a rigid pressed steel chassis and 1.5-in . diameter polyimide voice coil , the TFX0515 provides a cost-effective addition to the company ’ s series of coaxial units for applications including compact , fixed-install sound reinforcement and cinema audio .
Incorporating a number of performance improvements over the older TFX0512 , including bigger LF and HF voice coils , the TFX0515 driver also features a larger ferrite motor driving the low frequency element , delivering overall greater power handling . For HF reproduction , the device features a high sensitivity , 1-in . silk dome tweeter , driven by a highly compact neodymium magnet motor . With neodymium having a stronger magnetic force than ferrite , this permits the high frequency element to be much smaller than would be the case if ferrite were used . The resulting compact size of the HF unit enables it to be positioned inside the LF driver ’ s voice coil , at the exact point where the acoustic centres of both sources are ‘ coincident .’ The benefit of this is well-matched directivity and time alignment of the LF and HF signal , delivering improved signal coherence .
