Fifth Annual Expo-Scène Trade
Show & Conference Returning
in April
CITT/ICTS’s fifth annual Expo-Scène trade show
and conference is heading back to the Palais
des congrès de Montréal from April 17-18, 2019.
Organizers are expecting around 75 exhibitors and
over 1,800 visitors from the North American pro
audio, lighting, audiovisual, video, and multimedia
technology markets.
“For our fifth edition of Expo-Scène, we are
delighted to welcome new exhibitors and new
technologies and products that will be showcased
during the two-day event,” CITT/ICTS President
Angela Drainville tells PS. “We will be offering
hands-on training workshops prior to the show
as well as presenting our educational seminars,
renamed TEC Talks, which provide the sharing of
expertise on AV integration, lighting, staging, pro
audio, business solutions, and other related topics
with the professionals in attendance.”
The TEC Talks program will include a presenta-
tion from LS Media on immersive audio, as well as
from SFM/Digiflex on the future of signal transport
in live production. GerrAudio will be hosting Digi-
co console training and there will also be a panel
discussion on environmental responsibility in the
live entertainment industry.
Organizers have also announced that next
year’s Expo-Scène will take place from March
25-26, 2020, again at the Palais des congrès de
Montréal.
Visitor registration, as well as a list of exhibitors
and full event schedule, is available at

10 PROFESSIONAL SOUND
The worlds of professional audio, video, lighting,
and staging and musical instruments came to-
gether at the Prolight + Sound and Musikmesse
fairs in Frankfurt, Germany from April 2-5, 2019.
For the first time since 2015, the two trade fairs
were held concurrently on all four days and, for visitors from the professional audio sector in particular, offered a variety of new highlights
and product innovations.
With a revised hall layout, Messe Frankfurt located the entire Audio, Sound + Recording product segment in Hall 8.0, the biggest
ground-level exhibition hall at the convention complex. Additionally, many companies presented their latest products in the outdoor
exhibition area where the Live Sound Arenas enabled visitors to listen to PA and line array systems under realistic conditions.
A focal point of the complementary program of events was the trend towards 3D and spatial audio. The Immersive Technology Forum
presented developments in the field of VR/AR, 3D-mapping, and holography, as well as best-practice examples from manufacturers of
innovative audio solutions. Visitors could also experience a unique sound installation in the Sound Dome in the outdoor exhibition area.
The Future of Audio + Music Technology program covered subjects that are set to have a decisive impact on the future of the music and
event industry – from the use of mobile apps in studio and live settings, via blockchain technologies, to cloud-based DAWs.
