Yamaha Rivage PM7 Digital Mixing
System
Yamaha Corporation has introduced the Rivage PM7 digital mixing
system. The CSD-R7 digital mixing console is the central component
of the Rivage PM7 system, along with the Dante-based Rio3224-D2
and Rio1608-D2 I/O racks and TWINLANe-based RPio622 and RPio222 I/O racks.
The Rivage PM7 system is positioned directly below the current Rivage PM10 digital mixing system in the Yamaha lineup. The CSD-R7 is the
same size as the CS-R10 control surface, but with the DSP engine built into the console so it offers enhanced portability and system flexibility
while maintaining high operability. The dimensions and panel layout of the PM7 are the same as the flagship Rivage PM10. The Rivage PM7 has
120 input channels, 60 mix buses, 24 matrices, and a comprehensive selection of 48 plug-ins. A Dual Console function also allows the CSD-R7 to
be connected to one of the Rivage PM10 system control surfaces (CS-R10 or CS-R10-S).
The CSD-R7 offers connectivity with two types of audio networks, allowing either or both to be used for connection to I/O rack units.

Doubler Plug-In
Sonnox has released the VoxDoubler,
the first plug-in from a new range
called Toolbox. The Toolbox range
has been conceived to solve univer-
sally complex and time-consuming
problems that affect beginners and
audio professionals alike.
The VoxDoubler is comprised of
two separate plug-ins called Widen
and Thicken, which are specifically
engineered to help with the two
most common vocal doubling work-
flows. The VoxDoubler is designed
to provide ease of use, real-time
processing, and a lifelike sound as
if the doubled parts were actually
multi-tracked. The Widen plug-in
generates two new mono voices
and pans them to the left and right
of the original vocal. The Thicken
plug-in generates a new stereo
doubled voice and overlaps it with
the original vocal.
