Prolight + Sound 2018 to Introduce Immersive Technology Forum Nearly 250 First-Time Exhibitors Join 2018 NAB Show Almost 250 companies will exhibit for the first time at the 2018 NAB Show, the broadcast AV industry’s largest convention encompassing the convergence of media, entertainment and technology. The show is being held from April 7-12 in Las Vegas, NV. The 244 first-time exhibitors will join a wide variety of exhibiting veterans on the nearly 1,000,000 sq. ft. of space that make up the NAB Show exhibit floor. “Our new and returning exhibitors are the foundation of the NAB Show,” says NAB Executive VP of Conventions and Business Opera- tions Chris Brown. “Attendees come from all around the world to see firsthand these companies’ cutting-edge technologies and practical business solutions that continue to innovate how content is created, distributed, and consumed.” In total, the 2018 NAB Show exhibition will comprise 1,700-plus companies, including 819 international exhibitors. The NAB Show will also feature new technology-focused areas of the show floor: the Podcasting Pavilion will house companies that provide tools necessary to create and commercialize audio content, and the Immersive Storytelling Pavilion will include companies in- volved with the development and monetization of virtual, mixed, and augmented content. Taking place on April 12 th , its lectures will revolve around subjects such as 3D audio, virtual reality, 360-degree film, and holography. Addition- ally, there will be several special areas at Prolight + Sound where exhibitors will demonstrate immersive hearing experiences. The Immersive Technology Forum lecture program will give insight into how to upgrade events through the inclusion of immer- sive experiences, how to earn money with virtual-reality content, and where appropriate solutions can be used in productions. The program has been compiled in cooperation with hands-on experts and is oriented towards content producers, specialists from the technical and broadcasting segments, as well as at event managers and organizers. Franck Fabry Joins L-Acoustics as Canadian Sales Manager L-Acoustics has announced the recent appointment of Franck Fabry to the position of regional sales manager for Canada and will report directly to Michael Palmer, L-Acoustics’ new head of sales for the U.S. and Canada.
