High End Systems HPU Hardware for Hog 4
High End Systems has released the HPU , a new hybrid processor unit for the Hog 4 family .
One HPU unit can act either as a rack-mounted console or as a DMX processor connected to another Hog 4 family console product , capable of 64 universes of output from a single 2U 19-in . rackmount device . With all the power of a Hog 4 console , the HPU is designed for those applications where permanent hardware front-panel interfaces are not necessary , such as cruise ships , theme parks , and architectural lighting installations . In console mode , the HPU can also act as a backup to any Hog 4 family console . Users can plug a Hoglet 4 into the HPU , add up to two touch screen monitors , and they have a powerful and stable control system . The HPU is fully expandable using wings , widgets , and DMX processors . In DMX Processor mode , the HPU expands any other Hog 4 console product by up to 64 universes of output in a compact , rackmounted device .

Avolites Prism Player Media Previewing & Encoding Software
Avolites has released a new software application for media previewing and encoding called Prism Player . This release is the first application under the Prism product range and can work as an auxiliary tool to the Avolites Ai video software platform .
The Prism platform is designed with an intuitive and clear user interface to give newer video designers and operators a stepping stone into the discipline . Prism Player is a tool for previewing and encoding media clips without connecting to a server or Ai application . Video clips in the most common video formats can be easily encoded into the AiM codec , ready to be loaded into the server . AiM is Avolites ’ video codec that is designed for high-performance projects and shows . AiM can play back up to 16 layers of 4K content without losing visual integrity . Prism Player also supports the HAP codec , so clips from other servers can be previewed and transcoded to be used in Ai . Clips can also be encoded in batches to save time . Content rendered in AiM can also be previewed without uploading to a server . Additionally , the software includes a playlist function to preview different pieces of content together for a show or project .

The UltraStudio Monitor 3G and UltraStudio Recorder 3G are portable , pocket-sized products – one for recording SDI and HDMI video , and the other model for playing back SDI or HDMI video – powered by their Thunderbolt connections so they can be operated from a computer ’ s battery or power source . Replacing older Thunderbolt 2 models , these new models feature Thunderbolt 3 , which makes possible improved features such as more video formats , greater selection of colourspace , RGB video formats , and lower cost . Datavideo has released the PTC-140 NDI , the first NDI product in the brand ’ s product range . The PTC-140 NDI features NDI | HX , and simultaneously outputs NDI , 3G-SDI , and HDMI signals up to 1080p60 .
NDI technology allows the PTC-140 NDI to automatically detect and communicate with other NDI video equipment over an IP network . The PTC-140 NDI has 20x optical zoom and supports PoE , 3G-SDI video , control , and tally over one Ethernet cable . The PTC-140 NDI can be selected as a video source using streaming applications such as Wirecast , OBS , and video production software such as VMix and NewTek ’ s Tricaster Series . Camera control is done through NDI IP software and apps in addition to a dedicated Datavideo RMC-300A hardware controller . The RMC-300A remote camera control functions for the PTC-140 NDI include pan , tilt , zoom , focus , iris , camera presets , and advanced camera settings .
