Sandy Audio Visual Celebrates 25 Years
Sandy Audio Visual reached its 25 th anniversary in September 2020 . It has been providing comprehensive audio-visual services to the corporate , multi-cultural , and worship communities and has produced some of the largest events and festivals in Canada . Over the years , the company has been a leader in professional high-definition webcasting throughout North America and the Caribbean .
“ The vision for our existence and growth as a company stems from our father , Dr . Cleve P . Sandy ’ s , love for the audio-visual field ,” says Cleve Sandy , who heads the company . “ Our father was an early adopter of the technology , at the time being 16-mm film cameras , multi-slide projectors , analog audio mixers , and reel-to-reel tape machines . As children , Colin and myself learned how to develop film in our darkroom ,
CLEVE SANDY synchronize multi-projector slide shows , and splice analog audio tape together . The dream for SAV had its humble beginnings in Trinidad and Tobago with our father . The idea started with a wooden box cart sporting a music system powered by car batteries . Our father ’ s vision was simple — to provide music and entertainment for Trinidadians .”
Since then , SAV has grown and diversified substantially , opening offices in Toronto and Laurel , MD . Over the years , SAV has been proudly involved such events as : Spirit of KALAYAAN ‘ 98 SkyDome , The Harry Jerome Awards , Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show Toronto , the Tamil Street Festival , ARIBANA , Choir Fest , Martin Luther King Celebration , Blackstreet , TobyMac , and many more .

Sandy is also very proud of SAV ’ s long-standing post-secondary scholarship to Kingsway College in the Durham , ON region . Keeping in line with learning , SAV has recently started a school of training for live event applications .

Chauvet Professional Makes Initial $ 25K Donation to Behind the Scenes – ReSet Fund
Chauvet Professional presented a cheque to Behind the Scenes for $ 25,000 from its recentlylaunched ReSet Fund to be used to support seriously ill or injured entertainment techs and their immediate families , in addition to providing emotional wellness resources and training .
Following this initial $ 25,000 donation , Chauvet also said it would match donations up to an additional $ 25,000 from fundraising participants who bought ReSet branded jackets , caps , truss gloves , and other merchandise at Chauvetprofessional . com / resetfund through the end of November .
“ Chauvet Professional ’ s generous donation comes at a particularly important time for the charity and those we help ,” Behind the Scenes Executive Director Lori Rubinstein commented . “ ReSet is aiding us in continuing to develop programs under our Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Initiative that will assist industry members in maintaining their emotional and mental wellness through the pandemic and as they return to work .”
