NAMM is again working with ESTA, PLASA, and various pro AVL
trade publications to continue growing its educational offer-
ings at The 2020 NAMM Show, happening in Anaheim, CA, from
Jan.16-19.
ESTA’s curated education program includes training tracks on
rigging, lighting and electrical, safety, and lighting networking,
with nearly all sessions qualifying attendees for free ETCP-renewal
credits. New this year to ESTA’s Lighting & Electrical track is Rich-
ard Cadena’s two-day electrical training course, produced in collaboration with NAMM and PLASA.
As well, Pro Production by PLSN and FOH will return with a series of sessions for entertainment technology professionals. Richard Cadena of
Lighting&Sound America and PLASA will host several entertainment technology sessions, expanding attendees’ network and professional abilities.
The new Entertainment Technology Showcase will feature the latest products and side-by-side demos of new innovations and brands in the
event production world. With a dedicated lighting zone complete with dimmed overhead lights, attendees will be able to explore new discover-
ies from rigging to video consoles.
The Designer Studio will be the lighting designer’s home on The NAMM Show Campus, featuring support by ESTA and other key players
in the lighting field. NAMM Show attendees can meet up and interact with the global lighting community, then attend one of five tracks of
ESTA-curated training.

Details Announced for 25 th Annual Prolight + Sound
Prolight + Sound will be celebrating its 25 th anniversary at its next trade fair, hap-
pening from March 31 to April 3, 2020, in Frankfurt, Germany. For the past quarter
century, Prolight + Sound has been a keystone event in the international entertain-
ment technology industry calendar, often being the showcase for industry-changing
trends and innovations.
Prolight + Sound will occupy the whole western section of the Frankfurt Fair
and Exhibition Centre and boost its focus on professional encounters, offering new
trade-visitor services and a bigger gamut of conferences.
Hall 12.1, the biggest and most modern exhibition hall at the venue, will be the
central spot for professional lighting technology, projectors, spotlights, and lighting
control systems. It will also host laser and stage effects demos. The complementary
program of events at Prolight + Sound offers insights into trending subjects such as
intelligent light controls, digital transmission protocols, pixel and voxel mapping, and energy-efficient lighting.
Over the years, the product segment of theatre and stage technology has developed into one of the main elements of Prolight + Sound. The last
editions welcomed an increasing number of manufacturers of over-stage and under-stage machines, stages, grandstands, automation and curtain
technology, and specialized lighting and control desks for use in theatres. Once again, this product segment will be in Hall 12.0 where, for the first
time, there will be a special lecture platform with a program specifically for professionals from the theatre sector.
In 2020, companies from the professional AV media technology and systems integration sectors will relocate to Hall 11.0 in the western section
of the exhibition centre, bringing them closer to the other Prolight + Sound product segments. There, visitors will see large-scale displays, digital
and interactive signage, AVoIP, projection, conference and communication solutions, and media control and distribution. Together with associations
and exhibitors, Messe Frankfurt is organizing a new conference focusing on media technology in Hall 11.0. The main points of the program include
IP-based transmission technology and the interoperability of AV devices. Additionally, Hall 11.0 will be the setting for another edition of the Sinus –
Systems Integration Award.
