Astera Titan Tubes and PixelBricks are woven into the elegant lighting design by Bruno Poet and Ricard White for Icelandic singer-songwriter and live performance trailblazer Björk , who is touring her “ Cornucopia ” theatrical show globally through 2023 . The show concept was initiated by the artist herself and developed with creative collaborators James Merry and Argentinian film director Lucrecia Martel . The eye-catching and cerebral video content was produced by Tobias Gremmler and the set is designed by Chiara Stevenson .
The ‘ utopian planet ’ stage set features some spectacular main performance risers that appear like huge organic floating platforms , nicknamed ‘ The Mushrooms ’ by the crew . They needed lighting in a very specific way to give the illusion of floating , and Richard and Bruno immediately thought of Titan Tubes . The riser undersides are constructed from a set of flocked / latex fungal gills , and the 24 Astera Titan Tubes are positioned around the base of these ‘ gills .’ The stage and video design has three sets of automated tracked projection surfaces that interact with the risers to constantly shift and change the architecture of the space throughout the show .

The Darkness and Black Stone Cherry tore through UK arenas this year , delighting fans on a short but memorable co-headliner . This also united two lighting designers who were working together for the first time and 132 x Robe moving lights plus three RoboSpot systems supplied by lighting vendor Zig Zag Lighting . Lighting designers Mark Scrimshaw ( Black Stone Cherry ) and David Garcia ( The Darkness ) pooled their specs , ideas and imaginations to create an overhead lighting rig that would work for both LDs and their respective artists , based on what Zig Zag largely had available from stock .
The shared overhead rig was populated with Robe BMFL Spots , Blades and WashBeams , Robe Spiiders and MegaPointes . These were flown on three main trusses measuring 15 , 16.5 and 18 metres wide to add depth and perspective to the stage space , plus two auxiliary pre-rigged trusses hung in front of the two upstage trusses to accommodate the BMFL Spots . The numbers added up to 15 BMFL Spots , 34 MegaPointes and 32 Spiiders , all chosen , together with 22 strobe zoom bars , to provide ‘ base lighting ’ needed to cover the stage . The front truss featured eight BMFL Blades plus six BMFL WashBeams which were paired up on the three RoboSpot BaseStations positioned side stage . A central BMFL Spot enabled The Darkness ’ to project their logo onto their backdrop .

Located on the waterfront at the Apollo Bunder area in South Mumbai , the Gateway of India was erected to celebrate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary on their visit to India in 1911 . Standing at 26 meters ( 85 feet ) in height and made of basalt , it has also been referred to as the Taj Mahal of Mumbai and is among the city ’ s top tourist attractions . The spectacle has been put together to commemorate India ’ s independence and 75 th anniversary of the withdrawal of British troops from the country , as well as the contribution of Maharashtra in India ’ s struggle for Independence . The projectors were installed and commissioned by E Factor , a leading event planner that provides end-to-end solutions for the creation of unique experiences in India . A total of eight Christie Crimson WU31 laser projectors were used for this permanent installation .
The E Factor team , in collaboration with Christie , designed and manufactured bespoke weatherproof enclosures for the Crimson WU31 projectors . These enclosures are equipped with intelligent automation systems that can detect any changes in temperature or humidity , ensuring that the projectors remain functional and secure . To prevent automation failure , E Factor installed an external parameter reading system that provides digitalized readings in real-time .
America ’ s Flipper ’ s Roller Boogie Palace has landed in London , offering fun-seeking skaters an AV-rich , club-like experience . Billed as ‘ the world ’ s best rink ,’ its West London location is decked out with no less than 10 LED screens , five projectors and 200 Lucenti Tubes , all driven by Hippotizer Boreal + MK2 Media Servers which were bought by the venue owners .
Rigged around the main skating area are a number of screens , LED walls and projections , enhancing the visual feast . The projection surfaces are roller blinds made from Carbon Black , a new fabric with carbon fibre nanotubes woven into the material . This is a black projection surface and with the blinds over the stunning windows gives the option of allowing natural light to flood the venue or have the blinds down to give a more immersive visual experience . Lucenti LED Tubes are rigged in triangle formations above the rink which run alongside club-like lighting and a slamming sound system . The interiors were designed by independent design studio , 93 . Production design was delivered by Nvisible , headed by production designer Tim Dunn , who brought Digital Insanity ’ s Richard Bagshaw in to programme the media server solution with client-created content , working with Will Harkin , Technical Project Manager at Creative Technology .
