From Spelling Bee which was broadcast way back in 1938 on the BBC , game shows have been a daily fixture of our television viewing lives . We all have our favourites : Jeopardy , Family Feud , and Wheel of Fortune all entertainingly test our mental fortitude . Battle of the Generations , which will be airing in prime time coming this summer on CTV , is a new , interesting twist on the quiz show formula .

Hosted and co-executive-produced by multi-faceted entertainer , actress , producer , writer and creator Lilly Singh , Battle of the Generations is a co-production between Bell Media Studios , Motion Content Group and
Singh ’ s own Unicorn Island Productions . An international format created for markets around the world that will be available for distribution globally , Battle of the Generations not only asks how well you know your own generation , but how well you know your rivals ’ generations – ultimately resolving the question of which generation has what it takes to win it all .
Every episode of Battle of the Generations features four contestants , each hailing from a different generation : Gen Z , Millennial , Generation X , and Baby Boomer . Contestants battle their way through multiple rounds of nostalgia-packed pop culture and general knowledge trivia , in hopes of being the last generation standing . The last player standing enters The Vault , where the show ’ s high-stakes endgame is played for a chance to win the grand prize of $ 25,000 . With 20 one-hour episodes , viewers can test their knowledge and play along at home against their own families and friends of all generations .
Noted lighting designer and Canadian Screen Awards Winner Alex Nadon serves as the show ’ s Creative Director which entails production , lighting , video , and gaming design while Shawn Forbes serves a lighting director .
Nadon started his career in 1996 at the age of 19 as part of the rigging and lighting crew at Canada ’ s Wonderland amusement park . Nadon ’ s work on an Electric
