Prolight + Sound 2017 Sees Slight Attendance Increase Expo-Scène Experiences Increased, More Diverse Attendance in Third Year The third annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference returned to the Palais des congrès de Montréal from April 12-13, 2017. Expo-Scène is currently the only major Ca- nadian event dedicated to professionals in the audio, lighting, audiovisual, video, and multimedia technology markets. This year, there were 75 exhibiting manu- facturers and suppliers, including 12 new companies. The education component included more than 15 sessions on diverse topics such as lighting, audio, health and safety, special effects, and customs and transportation. There was also an interac- tive video mapping lab sponsored by 20K MAPP_MTL and Christie Digital. This year, there was also an increase in visitors from outside Quebec, with 67 per cent of registrants coming from Ontario, in addition to five per cent from the west- ern provinces and six per cent from the Maritimes. There was also an increase of international registrations, with 21 per cent coming from the U.S. and a few coming from Europe. “Entering into our third Expo-Scène, I knew the show was big and that it offered access to vendors that no other trade show across Canada did, but until I walked through the trade show doors for the first time, I had no idea of the scale, quality, and boundaries every vendor pushes to ensure an extraordinary experience for our attend- ees and to fully exemplify the exceptional products being showcased,” Elizabeth Wilk- ie, CITT’s acting president, tells Professional Lighting & Production. Next year’s Expo-Scène will again be at the Palais des congrès de Montréal from March 28-29, 2018. For more information, contact CITT: 514-504-9998, [email protected], www.citt.org.
