band Blue Rodeo’s
1000 Arms tour,
lighting designer Al
Paquette opted for
20 of Robe’s Spiiders
and five PATT 2013s,
which were newly
purchased by lighting
vendor Apex Sound
& Light. The Spiiders
were evenly positioned
along the upstage
truss with the five PATT
2013s on floor stands
at various heights
around the back.
Toronto-based duo Zeds
Dead have quickly grown
to be one of the biggest
names in EDM. For their
Northern Lights tour, LD
Tom Campbell and the
group’s idea was for the
show to be driven by Zeds
Dead’s visual content
using mapped fixtures to
“push” the content out
through the DJs and into
the audience. To best
accomplish this, Campbell
turned to two Avolites
Sapphire Touch lighting
control consoles – a main
desk and tracking back-
up – paired with two Ai
Infinity EX8 media servers
and a Titan Net Processor,
used to expand the show’s
number of DMX universes
and increase processing
speed.
