chosen with “ rider friendliness ” in mind , and all are comprised of high-end technologies that allow a substantial degree of freedom for incoming artists and / or private clients to put their stamp on a specific event .
For audio , the venue boasts an FOH and monitor system anchored by d & b loudspeakers and Avid Profile consoles – permanently installed in the space and purchased specifically for the venue . When it came to lighting and video , however , as Gardner explains , the long-term needs of the artists and the venue were better served by securing a rental package from Christie Lites ; one that can evolve as artists ’ riders , the needs of LDs , and the technology itself does .
“ We only purchased the motors and trussing ,” Gardner says . “ All of the fixtures are rentals and the reason that was done was that , especially in the lighting world , the technology is updated faster than it is in the audio world . So , Live Nation can update fixtures as newer , fancier things become the norm . But , as it is right now , the package is designed to be a very touring- and festival-friendly rig . As newer fixtures become the norm , we ’ ll send some things back to Christie and update them . That gives us the flexibility to stay current .”
The idea , he adds , was to provide the necessities , while allowing for incoming LDs to quickly and easily get their shows up and running .
“ Everybody knows these fixtures and can clone their show into our system , which makes it very simple for them , and doesn ’ t require an LD to sit there for six or eight hours of programming like they used to have to .”
The result is a mix of lighting elements that ’ s comprehensive , but also one-size-fits-all . All controlled via a Grand MA3 console and spread
across three sections of truss for the stage : an upstage truss with six Martin MAC Quantum Profiles , six GLP JDC hybrid strobes , 10 Martin MAC Aura beam / wash fixtures , and five ADJ Visi Beam 12RX units . There ’ s a mid-stage truss featuring the same elements , but with the addition of six Elation Professional DTW Blinders , and a front-of-house truss with six MAC Quantum Profiles , 10 Mac Auras ,
