With
the comprehensive upgrade of the Jack Singer Concert Hall ( JSCH ) technical systems in 2020 and 2021 , great care was taken to ensure the venue is prepared for the future .
The JSCH is one of Calgary ’ s most versatile performance venues and part of Arts Commons – a six-story , 560,000-sq . -ft. complex , which also houses five smaller theatres . It ’ s a beautiful and acoustically acclaimed venue ; home to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra , Arts Commons programming , as well as TED Talks , private events , and full-on rock shows .
As such , an upgrade to their lighting , video , and electrical systems , the addition of a broadcast streaming suite , and the replacement of the venue ’ s audio systems required balancing the needs of the artists that perform there and the diverse audience expectations for any type of show .
Among other efforts , the venue ’ s capacity for broadcast and recording included adding a large ISO Box Post isolation rack to house Waves gear and Adam A7X booth monitors for the broadcast and recording engineer , as well as a suite of robotic cameras . Additionally , the JSCH ’ s electrical infrastructure was completely redone and included the installation of a 250-amp , three-phase , Lyntec programmable AC panel , which allows for remote control via laptop over which AC circuits are active .
