The Screen Industries Research and Training ( SIRT ) Centre at Sheridan College in Oakville , ON , has built its new Virtual Production Innovation Hub using a range of Blackmagic Design products , including an URSA Mini Pro 12K digital film camera . As a leading research centre , SIRT created the Virtual Production Innovation Hub to help the industry shift to remote virtual production as a result of the pandemic . Featuring a 40 x 11-ft . LED wall , the virtual production pipeline relies on the URSA Mini Pro 12K and nine Micro Studio Camera 4Ks paired with Video Assist 3G monitor / recorders , which are fed into five HyperDeck Studio Pro recorders and an ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K live production switcher .
During the Montreal Canadiens ’ run to the Stanley Cup Final , the team wanted to give the lucky 3,500 fans in the arena a unique experience . PixMob , a Montrealbased creator of immersive crowd experiences , reached out to the team to design a one-of-a-kind solution that would make a limited-capacity arena feel full . For this , PixMob employed its Nova pixel technology .
