5 Data is for temperature range A : Max . short term temperature = 130 ° F ( 55 ° C ), max . long term temperature = 110 ° F ( 43 ° C ). Short term elevated concrete temperatures are those that occur over brief intervals , e . g ., as a result of diurnal cycling . Long term concrete temperatures are roughly constant over significant periods of time . 6 Tabular values are for dry concrete conditions . For water saturated concrete multiply design strength by 0.85 . 7 Tabular values are for short term loads only . For sustained loads including overhead use , see section 3.1.8 . 8 Tabular values are for normal-weight concrete only . For lightweight concrete , multiply design strength ( factored resistance ) by λ a as follows :
For sand-lightweight , λ a = 0.51 . For all-lightweight , λ a
= 0.45 .
