Notes from our YRC Ambassadors

Moving to Germany, learning Deutsch, meeting new people, adopting new mindsets all combined with studying Electrical Engineering would be such a tasking ordeal for a 17 year old but I was able to all of it seamlessly because of the preparations I received from the Youth Resource Centre.

The Centre stands as the bedrock in my life that not only changed my perspective about a lot of things but also influenced my understanding of what can make me soar and ride the waves of any situation in my life at any given time especially with my academics. Majorly, they seek to inject good values and the YRC team does their best in shaping personalities by exemplifying it in their lives first. I only spent a year in the YRC environment and everything about me completely changed because of the good morals and values taught there.

The university is a tough world on its own but it becomes really simple if you’ve gotten a solid foundation from the Youth Resource Centre!

My name is Dublin-Green Esther Ibiwari, a 400 level student of the University of Port Harcourt studying Microbiology Technology. When I first joined the YRC family, I was an introvert but after constant interactions with the great minds I met at the centre, I was able to break out of my shell. One unforgettable experience was winning a spoken word competition and getting a prize for it. TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) was my favorite slogan, I remember when the staff/mentors at the center encouraged me to come up with that acronym and I became the best at the end of that session. A big Thank you to the YRC Team for the major roles they have purposefully played in my life.
