Analyzing the architect ’ s construction with European analogues , looking for similar techniques that the architect used in his building , we can say with confidence that the architect was inspired by at least several European constructions : Tietz Department Store in Dusseldorf by architect Olbrich and The Shipping House of Amsterdam .
The Shipping House of Amsterdam ( Figure 6 ) was built at the beginning of the last century . This building is one of the best examples of the architecture of the Amsterdam school . An abundance of decorative elements , a combination of dark brick and uncut stone in patterned masonry are characteristic features of expressionism , as well as stained glass depicting sailing ships , shells , zodiac signs and other marine animals and symbols , molten glass , bas-reliefs , cast iron , forged fragments - all of those create a whole stylistic ensemble .
The protruding sharp corner of the house symbolizes the nose , and the rhombic plan of the building is the skeleton of the ship . It is decorated with sculptural compositions of sea deities - Neptune and Amphitrite , his wife , she is holding the helm . The monumental facade is decorated with statues of four oceans . The roof has a complex shape which resembles both the deck and sailing equipment at the same time , and it is always decorated with flags .

The Tietz Department store in Dusseldorf ( Figure 7 ). Having received an invitation to Düsseldorf in 1908 , Olbrich managed to carry out only one of his plans there - to build The Tietz Department store , which is characterized by a clear development of plans and designs , dynamic liveliness of volumes . Olbrich is one of the leaders of the Vienna Secession . In all forms , the author ’ s inclination to the use of clear geometric volumes and , at the same time , to smooth round transitions is obvious . The building was famous for the special stylistic integrity of the design solution for the facades , richly selected plastic elements that decorate the portal with sculptures and folk-ornamental bas-reliefs .
