The staff of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences include clinicians and educators with experience gained over the years . The University systematically develops cooperation with Krakow ’ s hospitals and chosen medical institutions in the region , which make facilities for practical clinical teaching .
The University constantly expands didactic facilities to teach medical specializations . In 2019 the modern Mono-disciplinary Medical Simulation Centre equipped with technologically advanced patient simulators and medical equipment as well as the audio-video system to register simulation sessions – the project was financed by the European Union . The centre is used to educate future nurses . Currently , within the EU project “ Building clinical skills in the simulating conditions ”, the new Multidisciplinary Medical Simulation Centre is being created , in which the students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences are also going to be taught with medical simulation methods . Nowadays the process of equipping the faculty with modern equipment at the amount of 13 million PLN is in progress . Next year the new building is going to be opened for the use of medical specializations , in which apart from didactic rooms there are going to be specialist laboratories do conduct research .
The students of architecture have interesting possibilities of development . They study in master classes conducted by active architects with world recognised work . Here , it is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts of AFMKU has an EU notification , providing the recognition of the diploma in the EU states . Professor Krzysztof Ingarden , the dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts of AFMKU , and at the same time the Honorary Consul of Japan in Krakow , signed the agreement with the office of Kengo Kuma & Associates in November 2019 , starting the program “ Kengo Kuma Student Award .” The best graduate of the faculty is going to get a possibility to undergo a 3-6-month paid internship in the office of KKA in Tokyo . The award is to be given annually . The goal of the award is to promote the highest architectonic educational and professional standards , as well as to develop and strengthen intercultural cooperation between Poland and Japan . The program starts in autumn 2020 .
Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University has been proud of internationalization for years . As of 31.12.2019 , 2,033 foreigners studied at the Krakow University . Most of them are found at the Faculty of Law , Administration and International Relations . These persons mainly came from Ukraine . In total the University hosts the representatives from 46 countries .
