LETTER FROM THE MANAGING EDITOR: Welcome to Probiotics & Cannabis Magazine – thank you for checking it out. I was indirectly introduced to Curtis Davis in 2011 by way of an interview on Deeper Down the Rabbit Hole, and during the interview, Curtis provided information about his own podcast show produced through his company, The Occult Network. I continued to listen over the next few years. Around Christmas 2014, I signed up for a Facebook account to follow some course-work I was taking, authors, writers, spiritual teachers I supported, and friends. I commented on an article Curtis wrote about economic prosperity in the Cannabis industry (which is reprinted for this issue). A conversation ensued about promoting healthy farming and growing of Cannabis, legalization news and the potential for business development. Next, Curtis introduced me to Alan Albin Adkisson’s Probiotic Farmers Alliance (PFA) and the PFA forum, so I became schooled on probiotics through the community Alan put together. Now that’s the Real SuperFood Forum! (It bugs me when I follow a link about a “superfood,” and end up scrolling down to a bottle of pills, asking for credit card info!) Though I can be called a “farmer-in-waiting” while working my 9-to-5, I’m an urban container gardener, growing organic herbs and veggies for my table and personal care products. I thought, “I can really liven up my vanity-care herbs with some real soil and probiotics!” Anyway, Curtis and I kept talking, and he revealed that support was needed for the industry. We discussed the idea of producing a publication specifically designed for the scientific and technical aspects, and generally for growing. Based on my 20plus years of self-publishing my own on-the-street “news-zine” (about motorcycle riders and clubs), I felt I could apply this toward the endeavor. This publication, Probiotics & Cannabis Magazine, is the result of our collaboration. Now, what you see here may not be quite as perfect or polished compared to newsstand magazines (YET), but one thing you can be sure of – it has Heart and Soul. The writers and contributors in this Premiere Issue, put Care, Time and Excitement into their submissions and photos. I know what it takes to focus thoughts into words, decide what approach to take, then stage and take the right photo(s) to match the article. It’s hard work, aside from the work you’re actually writing about! In light of this spirit and passion, I’ll present the articles as they are, and try to make them stand out as much as possible, because it ain’t about me – it’s all about Y.O.U. We hope to have you as a regular reader, contributor and we especially appreciate your support. Enjoy the magazine, send us your comments. NORENE CHILDS (AKA TIN ROOF) MANAGING EDITOR
