PEACE IS BETTER THAN WAR
Once upon a time, a king of Greece, named King Harkon attacked North India. The King of North India, Raja
Udhraprayagraj was a peace loving person who was very friendly with other Rajas of the country. On knowing
that King Harkon wants to fight with him to win his kingdom, he said “call King Harkon to my palace, I want to
talk to him”, but King Harkon didnot come to meet the Raja. On the day of the war, both the King and the Raja
fought very bravely and so did their soldiers. Raja Udhraprayagraj defeated King Harkon at the end. Raja told to
his soldiers “Donot capture King Harkon now. I invite him to my palace tommorrow”. Next day, King Harkon
came and stood before the Raja, bowing his head down. Raja said, “I will not put you in jail and will not torture
you and your soldiers. You are free”. Hearing this, King Harkon was surprised and started shouting “Long Live the
King. Long Live the King”. Raja then told him about Great Samrat Ashoka of India and how Battle of Kalinga
changed his life forever. Raja said “ I am a follower of Ashoka. I know war spreads blood and death”. King
Harkon said, “I am sorry, I didnot come to meet you when you invited me to your palace earlier- Please fogive
me”. The Raja said, “I am no one to forgive you, Forgive yourself by promising not to fight with other kings ever.
Now you go back to your country. We will always remain friends”. King Harkon left India and never fought
another war ever in his life.
