Hitting the trail at the Sariska National
Park
After 80 km drive on Jaipur
Mathura highway we took a left turn to Dharuhera then on Alwar by pass . After 100 km we arrived at Alwar . Alwar district of Rajasthan is a thriving city and one can enjoy the fresh and pollution free air .
At Alwar we stayed at our friend ’ s house . After being treated with a tasty dinner and a delicious breakfast in the morning with Sandwich and Alwar ’ s special Jaleba ( Bigger version of Jalebi full of syrup ) we left for SARISKA TIGER RESERVE PARK .
On the way there was a tortoise breeding research centre where we saw a number of tortoise playing in the pond .
Finally we reached the tiger reserve but oh ! ‐ we had to stand in the long queue at the counter for tickets for about an hour and we were lucky enough to get the tickets considering the long queue and the limited no . of jeeps . Many had to go back home as they did not get the tickets . Luck was on our side .
Best thing to do is one can book the ticket online and need not stand in the queue and also will get the Jeep on first preference . Only had we known this we could have beaten
Peacock and
Neelgai keep company on a forest dirt track
This fox seemed a bit foxed by our presence in his habitat the rush and saved time .
Anyways we paid approx . Rs 700 for six person for tickets and
Rs 1700 for Jeep and Rs . 250 for guide .
It was approx . 3 hrs safari deep inside the jungle from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm and our guide was very interactive and he filled us with a lot of interesting details about the jungle ecosystem and we got to know a lot about the interdependence of the creatures living in the jungle .
Do you know that the trees in Sariska are red on the top as they are more exposed to the sun and are green at the bottom .
The synergy between the Langur and deer was revealing . Langur and deer roam around together , and as the Langur jumps from one tree branch to another jumping fruits and leaves fall on the ground and that makes a tasty feast for the deer on the ground . Langur also alerts the deers if they sense the presence tiger in the vicinity .
Termites are dangerous when in houses but they play an important role in maintaining the eco system

School , Aravali Hills , Faridabad of the jungle by eating the dead trees and branches which falls on the ground and convert it into fertilized soil . In this way dead trees are decomposed and also the soil becomes rich in manure which is good for forest vegetation .
We saw one Junglee Cat, lots of Deers , Sambars , Peacocks , many water birds , different types of birds , Langurs , Jackals , Wild Pigs , Nil Gai , and Cheetal i . e . spotted deers .
We really enjoyed the silence and the beauty of the nature for three hours . It was really a very different world out there in the jungle . We were hoping to sight a tiger but the tigers were just not in a mood to show themselves that day . Hard luck ! But overall it was an experience worth experiencing . Also to enjoy the jungle life one can stay in the resort too which is at the entrance to the jungle .
While returning we went to SILISERH lake . We weree late for boating but yes the scenicc beauty around the lake was mesmerizing .
After this amazing and refreshing trip we were back home the next day and back to our daily routine . I would suggest to all readers to go and explore this jungle some day . Even if you do not spot the tiger , it is worth the visit for the richness of flora and faunaa .
