22 ERSA Squash ERSA Squash Manager, Nick Down, provided the official Stringing service for the World Squash Doubles Championship at the National Squash Centre in Manchester, UK, between the 1st and 5th of August. Only about 12 countries took part totalling about 60 players. It wasn't especially busy, but a constant stream of rackets flowed in throughout the week because there was no 'knock-out' element to the competition, with all teams playing all week eventually fighting out for all positions, not just the medals. There was plenty of opportunity to watch a few matches and some of the very top players in the world were present despite the low number of teams and the entertainment was high quality. Most but not all teams were from commonwealth countries with their sites on the Commonwealth Games in January in Australia and competition was fierce with the outcome greatly influencing the potential seedings for the CWG in January. The Southern Hemisphere fared well with New Zealand taking Gold in Women's and Mixed with Australia taking the men's.
