Plastics has been crowned
Britain’s Best Small Business
in the national Red Ribbon
Awards. The prestigious Red
Ribbon Awards celebrate,
recognise and honour the
achievements of British family run and owned firms.
GB Plastics, a Freefoam customer
for over 10 years, is celebrating
its Silver Anniversary this year,
and has grown into a network
of six branches in Shrewsbury,
Walsall, Banbury, Kettering and
most recently Oswestry with
a £3.5 million annual turnover
business. Supplying the ful l range
of Freefoam products from fascia
and soffit to rainwater systems,
external cladding and internal
PVC panelling, GB Plastics offer
expert knowledge and high levels
of customer service across the
Midlands.
GB Plastics was founded in 1990
by Janet Sutherland who continues
to work in the business alongside
her son Alan and eldest daughter
Wendy Hill, both Directors, and
youngest daughter Clare Falls.
After collecting the Best Small
Business Award and speaking
on behalf of her family, Wendy
Hill said: “Winning this award is
amazing and overwhelming! It is
a massive recognition of all the
hard work over the years, for my
family and each and every one of

supporting our business and helping us grow by offering new and

New Appointment
Strengthens The Team
Saint-Gobain Glass UK has announced the
appointment of James O’Donoghue as
Regional Sales Manager for the South.
James is a well-known figure
in the industry and brings
with him many years of experience, most recently with
Uniglass but also previously
within SGG at Gibbs and Dandy Glass.
He will report to Head of Sales,
Richard Wall, who said of the
appointment: “It’s great to have
James on the team. It’s especially
good news for our customers who,
we know, will appreciate the level
of attention and support that he is
already well known and respected
for.”
James replied: “I am delighted
to have joined the Saint Gobain
team. I have always been very
passionate about customer service,
new and innovative products,
continuous improvement and the
glass business in general, so there
