SAY GOODBYE
A LASTING LEGACY FOR GRADE II LISTED RESIDENTIAL REFURB
Quickslide ’ s Legacy uPVC sliding sash windows have helped to transform a substantial , Georgian Grade II listed building , underlining Legacy ’ s credentials as a market-leading , high-performance solution for challenging heritage projects that demand a highly authentic product to satisfy strict planning regulations .
A total of 24 Legacy sliding sash windows were installed , together with one arched sash frame and two casement windows , all supplied by Quickslide in a white woodgrain finish , transforming the energy efficiency , aesthetics and security of the residential property .
The quality and attention to detail of the Legacy windows , featuring a range of outstanding heritage details such as a realistic timber-look finish , 90 ° mechanical corner joints , a Georgian-inspired full grid bar layout , and a deep bottom rail , were key to securing the required Listed Building Consent ( LBC ). These features not only ensured compliance with strict planning regulations but also perfectly complemented the building ’ s historical character , preserving its authentic Georgian aesthetic .
Ben Weber , Quickslide ’ s Managing Director , commented : “ Legacy took the market by storm when it was originally launched five years ago , but thanks to recent refinements it ’ s an even closer match to traditional sash windows than ever before .
“ This includes a new midrail , which is now just 37mm and we ’ ve re-engineered the sash horns so that that the woodgrain foiled end caps run seamlessly with the shape of the horn – making Legacy almost indistinguishable from real timber vertical sliders .”

TO GALLOWS
Over the last 40 years , much of the innovation that has gone into the Ultraframe Glass Roof has been driven by customer feedback and the latest enhancement to the system has come about for exactly that reason . The company has announced the launch of a new reinforced 265mm box gutter which negates the need for gallows brackets . This improvement also brings the additional benefits of an increased spanning capability of up to six metres and reduced costs .
Compatible with all Ultraframe Glass Roofs and Livinroof , the reinforced box gutter must be used with the Ultraframe standard eaves and be supported at either end by hup !, a brick wall or an aluminium post .
Commenting about the new reinforced box gutter , Ultraframe Marketing Director , Alex Hewitt , said : “ Our Glass Roof may be the original Ultraframe roof system with a 40-year heritage but the technology within in it could not be more advanced . We have constantly invested into innovation , evolving it over all those years including the introduction of Livinroof back in 2014 and we continue to do so today .
“ For many years gallows brackets have been a necessary evil as far as many are concerned , with homeowners sometimes struggling to understand why they are needed and believing that they impact on internal aesthetics . The new reinforced 265mm box gutter means that homeowners can now say goodbye to gallows and also reduces the overall cost of the roof – a win-win situation ! The great news is that it can also be used on Livinroof to deliver the same benefits .”
The maximum length possible on the new box gutter is 6m ( internal frame 5860mm ), with a maximum jointed length of 5.8mm . All joints must be supported and the location of joints must be specified during the ordering process , but as always , the Ultraframe Tech Support Team is on hand to guide installers through the ordering process and answer any queries .
