Freefoam launches Fireside Chat video series
Freefoam is launching a series of informative ‘ Fireside Chat ’ videos designed to open up discussion about important industry topics .
Covering all things roofline , the videos feature Colin St John , Freefoam Commercial Director as he talks about issues such as the changing roofline market , the complexities of the supply chain , colour and innovation , and the importance of forging strong ties with customers .
Freefoam Marketing Manager Louise Sanderson explains : “ We ’ ve developed a series of informal videos so installers , stockists and the wider market can learn more , and agree or disagree , about important issues and trends that affect them . Freefoam Commercial Director , Colin St John , has worked in roofline for around 20 years and he gives great insight into changes in the industry and their implications for the future . In the series Colin explains how Freefoam has taken a different approach to other
roofline manufacturers who sought to take control of the supply chain . Instead , we focused on developing customer relationships and adapting our product range and service offering to help our customers sell more .
“ The videos are part of our # HelpingCustomersGrow campaign which highlights Freefoam ’ s unique approach to building our business and celebrates customers ’ successes . We hope these videos will both inform and provide a platform for future debate .”

QUICKSLIDE ’ S DISPATCH CENTRE IS READY ON SCHEDULE
Over the past 18 months , Quickslide has committed to fulfilling its £ 2m programme of growth , with the most recent phase being work on the new dispatch centre , which was completed in July by Cleckheaton Construction despite the challenges of lockdown .
Now , Quickslide ’ s Brighouse-based new dispatch centre has been designed so that Quickslide has one dedicated facility that all finished goods from its multiple factories filter in to . This means handling of goods is kept to a minimum , delivery vehicles can be loaded more quickly and safely , ultimately enabling Quickslide to service its customers faster and more effectively .
The finished dispatch centre has not only improved the loading processes , its reorganisation has created an optimised layout and freed up valuable space , which can now be used in the manufacturing process rather than to simply house finished products . There is also now a designated space for training in the new unit , illustrating Quickslide ’ s commitment to future growth .
“ The whole new set-up provides us with an extra 30 % capacity on one shift or 100 % if we run to split shifts ,” said Ben Weber , Quickslide ’ s Managing Director .
“ This flexibility ensures we needn ’ t endure this irritating ‘ yo-yo ’ of delivery times and can help our partners out at times of urgency . It also allows more intelligent batching , better optimisation and more efficient logistics , passing on some savings to ensure better margins can continue to be achieved by our installer partners .”
