GGF Issues Comprehensive
Responses to Government
on Fire Safety Consultations
The Glass and Glazing Fed-
eration (GGF) has comprehen-
sively responded to three Govern-
ment consultations related to fire
safety:
• A technical review of building
bulletin 100: Design for fire
safety in schools (submitted
to the Department of Educa-
tion)
• A call for evidence related to
the Regulatory Reform (Fire
Safety) Order 2005 (submitted
to the Home Office)
• Building a safer future: pro-
posals for the reform of the
building safety regulatory sys-
tem (submitted to Department
of Business Energy Industrial
Strategy)
Adrian Blaydon, GGF Techni-
cal Officer and Secretary of the
Fire Resistant Glazing Group
commented, “Given the signifi-
cant scale and scope of all three
consultations, the GGF ensured
comprehensive responses were
delivered against extremely tight
deadlines.”
These consultations will shape
the future of the construction
industry and building regulatory
system in the decades to come,
and the GGF and Members who
have contributed their expertise
and knowledge to the consulta-
tions, have ensured a collective
collection of Tradesmith’s
hardware range includes
new hand-forged options
by From the Anvil. The new
VEKA ultramatt Spectral sys-
tem is also on show – Trade-
smith is the first fabricator in
the UK to display a window
with this unique finish.
In the third, ground floor
showroom, specialist Spitfire
doors sit alongside compos-
ite doors from Solidor and
Calibre, and double-rebated
options from The Door Fac-
tory. The display area also
includes Tradesmith’s own
popular Sussex door range,
as well as an Invisifold win-
dow and the UK’s first set
of Bluesky-certified acoustic
windows.
