ICOTHERM’S HYBRID SOLID ROOF
ICOVIEW – WHAT’S NEW THERE?
the powder coated aluminium
glazing bars to be in line with
the tiling.
The Icoview option is available
with glazed units of up to 3000
x 800mm and can be supplied in
single units or two units side by
side. For double units you will
receive a double pod, with an in-
tegrated GluLam beam between
the two. This beam provides
additional strength and will give
the ceiling a modern feel when
left exposed. The glazing tracks
and gaskets are preinstalled for
ease, ready for the unit. All units
must be squared edge.
Icoview will fit most standard
Icotherm roof system sizes but
will require a check of roof load-
ing calculation for compliance.
Icoview incorporates fixed
double-glazed units, allowing
for maximum lighting and a
contemporary feel and designed
it around the same pod option
used for our original Icoroof.
This means that you will install
your roof in the normal way,
situating the glazing pods as per
the roof plan, and glaze once the
structure is up.
Aesthetically, a point we
focused on was to make the
external look more seamless.
We had considered having the
glazing bar tiled over, but upon
consulting with our customers
we realised that, despite the
most pleasing appearance, it
would be the most difficult to
service should the glazed unit
ever fail. So instead we opted for

FROM THE BOXING RING
TO THE ‘PREMIER’ LEAGUE
Chris Mullen, sales director at Premier Roof Systems started in the industry at the age of
16 manufacturing UPVC windows, then became a floor manager at the firm by the age of
18. After a six-year professional boxing career, at the age of 24, he thought it would be a
great idea to start Premier Roof Systems Limited with business partner Jamie Blackwood.
And it wasn’t just a great
idea, it was a knock-out…
“Premier Roof Systems is a na-
tional supplier of a variety of glass,
polycarbonate and solid conservato-
ry roof systems. We also manufac-
ture and supply a variety of market
leading roof lanterns. Typically,
Premier Roof Systems is a trade
supplier but have an online shop;
open to both domestic and trade.
“Typically, the main focus
of Premier Roof Systems is to
become the industry leading
company within the fenestration
industry. We’re a strong team of
incredibly hard working individu-
als who share the same company
vision. We’ve grown significantly
since founded, have an ambitious
growth plan and are committed to
success.
“We have an ambitious growth
plan and are committed to suc-
cess. There are so many options
for a solid roof nowadays and a
variety of materials used for a sol-
id roof conversion. The addition of
opening roof windows and glazing
panels incorporated in the roof
systems means light and thermal
efficiency aren’t compromised
when creating an all year-round
living space out of an old and
un-usable conservatory.
“From March 2011, fabricating
the Eurocell conservatory roof sys-
tem, we’ve always kept up to date
with the market and the up and
coming products. After 12 months,
we hadn’t seen the huge potential
in the solid roof market and de-
cided to add the Guardian warm
roof to our product range. Since
then, we’ve added a variety of
roof lanterns such as the Eurocell
Skypod, the Korniche roof lantern,
the Atlas range and we have very
recently become an Ultraframe
conservatory roof fabricator.
“Such a variety makes selling
much easier as we have a product
for just about every application.
There isn’t a product out there
that ticks all of the boxes therefore
from a supply point of view, we
need to be a solutions supplier;
and we think we do just that.”
