Having recently become an
official Lancashire Ambassador
alongside the likes of Andrew
‘Freddie’ Flintoff, VEKA UK has
further demonstrated pride in the
company’s Lancashire roots by
becoming an official Patron for
Lancashire Business Day 2019.
This year’s Lancashire Business
Day event will be held on Novem-
ber 27, (the date the county first
sent representatives to parliament
more than 700 years ago) and will
take place in one of the county’s
newest and most exclusive venues,
with the theme of #LancashireAn-
dProud.
It will be the first event of its
kind in the brand new Crow Wood

Wood estate in Burnley. The event,
now in its third year, will once
again bring the business com-
munity together to celebrate all
things Lancashire. It will feature
high profile speakers and in-depth
panel discussions focusing on
the issues affecting Lancashire
businesses.
There will also be showcases of
the best the county has to offer,
with locally-sourced food, drinks
and entertainment throughout the
event, and the opportunity for all
delegates to network and meet with
potential customers and suppliers.
VEKA UK MD Dave Jones said:
“We are very proud to be a patron
of this year’s Lancashire Business
Day. Lancashire is not only home
to the VEKA UK factory, but also
to most of our brilliant employees.
We’re looking forward to meeting
some inspiring people and busi-
nesses who are as dedicated as
we are to supporting Lancashire’s
growth story.”
Richard Slater, publisher of Lan-
cashire Business View magazine
and founder of the annual event,
said: “is a fantastic county to live,
work and do business in. We say
‘if you can buy it in Lancashire,
buy it in Lancashire’ and this is the
ultimate showcase of what’s availa-
ble and why it’s great to work
with your neighbours.”

Decade of service
at award-winning
marketing agency
Sam Cross, account director at
leading full-service marketing
agency Purplex, is celebrating
ten years with the firm.
Sam joined Purplex in
February 2009, initially as
a copywriter working on
client campaigns, but he
quickly progressed through
the business and was ap-
pointed account director in
2014.
Today he is responsible
for developing powerful
multi-channel marketing
strategies for some of Pur-
plex’s largest clients.
Sam comments on his
decade of service:
“When I first joined, we
had seven staff and predom-
inantly offered ‘traditional’
marketing services such as
PR and direct mail, whereas
today we have more than 70
staff and offer the full spec-
trum of marketing services
including online lead gener-
ation, TV and radio.
QUICKSLIDE ON THE DOUBLE
West Yorkshire based

changed a lot in the last
decade but our obsession
with delivering results has
always remained the same,
and that is why we’ve been
able to retain and attract so
many clients.”

fabricator, Quickslide, has
announced that it has rolled
out double shift patterns
throughout its factories, a
move that is designed to
further improve its service
offering, as well as ensure
it is best placed to cater for
a significant upturn in sales
orders for all its market
leading products.
Quickslide, which manu-
factures a complete range
of PVC-U and aluminium
windows and doors, first
introduced a double shift
working pattern in January
2019 due to high demand
for its authentic, high-per-
formance heritage style
vertical sliders. The com-
pany reports that this has
proved to be highly success-
ful and has enabled it to
further enhance its service
to trade partners by offering
improved lead times, even
during particularly busy
periods.
And now that the in-
creased vertical slider
production has proven to
be so beneficial, Quickslide
has expanded the option of
double shift patterns to both
its aluminium and PVC-U
casement facilities, giving
the company the ability
to uplift capacity – factory
wide – as and when it is
required.
Tom Swallow, Sales &
Marketing Director com-
mented: “By extending the
option of double shifts to
our other factories, we are
now also very well posi-
tioned to respond to the
demand for our aluminium
offering, which has been
bolstered by the ongo-
ing upturn in popularity
for aluminium products.
Furthermore, should the
need arise, we can now
significantly increase the
output of our new range of
Deceuninck PVC-U products
that were introduced earlier
this year.”
