Trade Counter Spotlight:
National Plastics
One stop shop, National Plastics, has seen incredible growth over the last few
years and the company isn’t showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Having just relocated
its Newport depot and
with a vision to open
many more stores in
the next two years,
National Plastics has
plenty to shout about.
In the last five years alone,
with the recession in full
swing, the company has
added £10 million to its
turnover.
Geoff, Foster, Managing
Director National Plastics,
said: “Our growth is something we are very proud
of. Some of it is thanks to
acquisitions and opening
new sites, but it’s mainly
because we have increased
sales to our customers by
offering an ever-wider range
of products, holding huge
amounts of stock and being
able to deliver, in many
cases for free.”
‘being able to
deliver, in many
cases for free’

Geoff added: “Our plans
to open further stores
means that many more
tradesmen will be able to
benefit from our simple,
customer-focused approach in the future.”
COMPANY ETHOS:
National Plastics is a
huge success story in the
industry, thanks to their
simple ethos: give customers what they want.
Although easier said than
done, National Plastics
maintains its ethos by
stocking a wide a range
of products as possible,
making them a ‘One Stop
Shop’ for tradespeople’s
needs.
‘our range of
products is a
big factor in
our success’
However, just stocking a
large product range isn’t
always enough; National
Plastics also strives to offer
something a bit different
too.
Geoff said: “There is no
doubt that our range of
products is a big factor
in our success, but I also
think our customer-focused approach is vitally
important. What makes us
different is we back up our
product range with good
quality customer support
that values every single
person who comes in to one
of our stores, orders online
or calls our phone line. Our
aim is to make dealing with
us a pleasure as well as a
necessity and feedback from
our customers suggests it’s
something they value.”
