of the Year’. After 20 years
of training and supporting
young people at the start
of their career, The VEKA
UK Group’s Apprenticeship
programme still remains at
the core of the company’s
business and development
strategy.
A nomination for ‘Promotional Trade Campaign
of the Year’ is thanks to a
couple of unusual characters. Colin Torley, Sales and
Marketing Director of The
VEKA UK Group explains:
“We’re very pleased with
our ‘Lasting Relationships’
campaign. It featured
the quirky images of an
elephant and a dog that
was unlike anything in the
industry at the time and
really seemed to get people
talking.

ensuring no delays on their
project.
Prior to dispatch, every
SIG Windows branch must
follow a detailed checklist
in order to ensure that the
windows and doors are in
top quality condition, and
more importantly that they
meet the customer’s order
specifications.
Post inspection, a QC
sticker is applied to the
product confirming that
the glass and frame are in
perfect condition prior to
dispatch.
Steve Jones, Operations
Manager at SIG Windows,
said: “The QC scheme confirms our commitment to
quality and to our customers. Working with a number
of leading manufacturers
enables us to provide a
range of high quality products. However, we wanted
to go one step further
by guaranteeing that our
customers not only receive
quality products, but they
come with no hassles, no
worries and complete peace
of mind.”
“This scheme provides the
contractor with a true ‘fit
and forget’ solution, and ensures that projects suffer no
delays, no loss of business
or profit, and no potential
embarrassment or damage
to reputation”.
The launch of the scheme
by SIG Windows brand follows its recent rebrand and
emergence in the growing
market for windows, doors
and conservatories. Incorporating Window Fitters Mate
(WFM) - one of the leading
independent suppliers of
fabricated windows, doors
and conservatories in the
UK - the brand forms part
of the new SIG Building
Plastics division.

“The campaign conveyed
how much we appreciate
our long-standing partnerships with fabricator
customers and how the size
and strength of The VEKA
UK Group can really benefit
businesses of all sizes. The
animal characters were a
great talking point with
potential customers and we
received 66 sales leads in
the first month of the campaign going live alone.
“This campaign evolved
to incorporate our new

‘dating’ website called Fabmatch.com, designed to pair

Thanks to the increasingly
strong reception of Pro-Installer in the field of trade
publications, its owners,
South Yorkshire-based
specialist trade publishers, the Clearview Group
Ltd, has doubled the
number of trade outlets
at which Pro-Installer is
available.
Director Steve Sidebottom says:
“We now have more than 600
trade outlets at which Pro-Installer
is distributed and to meet demand,
we have also increased the number of monthly copies printed to
30,000 and added several new features including A Day in the Life
of an Installer, plus Pro-Sport and
Pro-Motors sections with more to
come.
“Our aim is to continue with our
policy of continuous improvement
in terms of content, readership
and distribution and we are well
on target for 2014-2015.
“We are aware of the relevance
of social media in trade publishing
and with this in mind, we have
brought on board a new Forum
Editor ,Danny Basden, who is responsible for the Forum content as
well as dealing with any responses
that may be required to keep this
section both topical. Danny, whose
background is in trade and industry, aims to promote current issues
and deal with hot industry topics
so the Forum will be the online
‘Voice of the Trade.’
