The main contractor for the project was Lane End Group and the contract for the windows and doors in the development was awarded to Profile 22 Approved Contractor Kingfisher Windows, a leading manufacturer and supplier of windows, doors and conserva- tories. The site was on land formerly owned by the prestigious inde- pendent school St Bede’s College and situated near a local conser- vation area. The Profile 22 Optima Flush Casement Window more than met the demanding require- ments of the development. Jonny Reynolds, Technical Director at Kingfisher Windows, said: “The Optima Flush Casement Window offers the perfect solution for developments in areas protect- ed by conservation orders that need a window that replicates the 19th-century timber window design, whilst offering modern features and benefits.” SEE SPECTRAL FIRST AT TRADESMITH Launched at this year’s FIT Show VEKA’s new SPECTRAL finish attracted a lot of atten- tion. With a new in-line tinting facility for Hodgson Sealants in Hull, the company is now making this defining new product in white, black, grey, anthracite grey and brown and there’s even a new product video to support the launch. There are a number of notable dif- ferences in this next generation hy- brid sealant in that it is paintable, UV stable, suitable for interior or exterior use, can be applied in damp con- ditions and is permanently elastic. HY-SPEC® 25 is more flexible than typical silicone sealants, is solvent free and for installers it also pro- vides a class-leading shelf life of 18 months and at a strong price point for such a product innovation. This latest development is one of a number of new product launches this year, as Hodgson Sealants seeks to become the seal- ant supplier of choice for installers and specialist sealant applicators, looking for a UK partner with firm roots in British manufacturing. Gary Thomas, commercial direc- tor commented: “HY-SPEC® 25 is a genuine game changer for the seal- ant sector and yet another product innovation from our facility in Beverley, East Yorkshire. We’ve made this available in five colours initially which we’ve carefully col- our matched, including an accurate RAL 7016 for anthracite grey.” www.hodgsonsealants.com
