UKGBC REACTS TO GOVERNMENT
REQUEST FOR ADVICE FROM THE CCC
The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) has today reacted to the
news that Energy and Clean Growth Minister Claire Perry has written
to the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) asking for advice on
setting a date for achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
Julie Hirigoyen, chief
executive at UKGBC said:
“Today’s announcement
should prove to be the
starting gun on the race to
net zero carbon in the UK.
By requesting advice on
Listers and VEKA,
flush with success!
Every partnership is
built on two things; trust
and respect and after
working together for 14
years, VEKA and Listers
have developed the perfect
relationship.
In August 2017, Listers
was acquired by industry
stalwart, Roy Frost and
his first port of call was
to ensure that partnership
remained intact.
That brand is the Time-
less range of mechanically
jointed flush sash windows,
created by Listers using
the VEKA flush window
system.
To enhance the brand’s
visibility, Listers has invested
heavily in the new Timeless
brand, developing a retail-fo-
cused website, a brochure,
professional photography,
colour blocks, samples and
more. The team have even
taken the brave decision to
house a large selection of
stock colours for reduced
lead times.
Moving forward, Roy and
his team at Listers are de-
termined to expand on the
initial success that Timeless
is already bringing to the
business. Plans are being
actioned on expanding man-
ufacturing facilities at the
Listers factory in Stoke on
Trent as well as a big mar-
keting campaign to bring
Timeless to the forefront of
the end users’ attention.

limiting temperature rises
to 1.5°C, the Government
has signalled its intention
to raise the ambitions of
climate action and secure
the UK’s position as an in-
ternational leader on cutting
emissions. If the Committee
on Climate Change follow
the lead of last week’s IPCC
report, it seems likely that
we could soon see a new
Climate Change Act with a
UK-wide target to achieve
net zero emissions ahead of
2050.
“UKGBC will be leading ac-
tion in the UK’s property and
construction industry under a
new Advancing Net Zero pro-
gramme launching later this
week, which aims to drive
the transition to a net zero
carbon-built environment.”
