Eco Windows demonstrates its
credentials at Halifax home
Spectus fabricator Eco Windows
has recently completed an impressive
design and installation project for a home-
owner in Halifax. The project involved
the manufacture and installation of numer-
ous bespoke arched windows and doors
throughout the property.
Such a complex job needed the servic-
es of a highly experienced company and
Halifax-based Eco Windows fitted the
brief perfectly. Steve Ryan, Director at Eco
Windows explains: “The property was of
a very high specification and the windows
and doors needed to be of a similarly high
standard. We took a detailed brief from our
client before designing a bespoke solution
that met their needs including a series of
bespoke arched windows and doors which
we manufactured, for the first time, in-
house. Understandably, the arched frames
required a little more precision than stand-
ard, but we are more than happy how the
manufacture and installation went, as is the
homeowner.”
The window and door products includ-
ed a mixture of flush casement windows,
arched French doors, patio doors and pivot
windows.

BURBAGE CUSTOM
WINDOWS APPRECIATES THE
CONVENIENCE OF SAFEWARE
Burbage Custom Win-
dows has been a Safeware
customer for over ten
years. When asked why
he’s stayed with the Epwin
Window Systems hardware
company for so long, own-
er James Meah’s answer
is simple. “It’s very con-
venient. We’re a Profile 22
fabricator and the hardware
comes at the same time as
our profile order, it’s all
on the same invoice and
you’re dealing with the
same people.”
James also appreciates
the fact that any product
he orders from Safeware
will be compatible with
Epwin’s window and door
systems. “We can be confi-
dent everything matches,”
he says. As well as know-
ing the products will fit,
Safeware customers also
benefit from the compre-
hensive range that covers
locks, hinges, handles,
stays, cylinders, vents and
furniture. When correct-
ly specified, everything
complies with Document
Q, holds the Secured by
Design accreditation and
all relevant BSI Kitemarks.
The range covers the mar-
ket-leading suppliers, all
styles and all price points,
so there’s a solution for
every project.
Safeware customers
benefit from the strength of
the Epwin Window Systems
brand plus there is a ded-
icated specialist hardware
support on hand to answer
any query at any stage.
Burbage Custom Win-
dows is based in Hinckley
in Leicestershire. Founded
over 20 years ago the com-
pany has built its reputa-
tion on quality, something
that is reflected in the fact
it gets most of its work
from recommendations and
repeat business.
James concludes: “We
could get our hardware
from anywhere but the fact
it’s all on the same invoice
as our profile order and
you’re dealing with the
same people makes it very
easy.”
When a long-established,
successful company part-
ners with a brand for over
ten years, it’s clear it deliv-
ers what’s required. And
in this case, it’s clear that
Safeware’s convenience,
reliability and range de-
livers for Burbage Custom
Windows.
has launched a new aluminium framed
rooflight, designed to offer installers a high
quality, easy-to-fit solution for homeowners
looking to increase the flow of natural light
in to their home.
Developed in-house, the contemporary
TuffX design allows the rooflight – availa-
ble in anthracite grey as standard – to be
supplied directly to installers as a complete
assembled unit, which can then be simply
dropped into place and secured.
Manufactured in either 6mm Triple Glazed
Thermal Toughened Safety Glass with a U-Val-
ue of 0.7 w/m2, or 6mm Double Glazed Glass
with a U-Value of 1.2 w/m2, the external
panes of each unit also receive a screen-print-
ed boarder. This process ensures any joins
and sealant are properly concealed before
the panes are securely assembled into an alu-
minium frame, creating a product that is then
ready for installation ‘out of the box’.
Graham Price, managing director of
TuffX, commented: “The demand for pre-
mium products – fuelled by aspirational TV
programmes such as Grand Designs – is
greater than ever before.”
