ROOFING UNDERLAY PROTECTS AGAINST ELEMENTS
Hambleside Danelaw has introduced a range of vapour permeable underlays into its collection of
products. Certified by The British Board of Agreement (BBA), the Danelaw LR120 and LR150 membranes
further enhance its position as one of the leading manufacturers of roofing products in the UK.
The membranes offer
high levels of protection
against the elements during
the construction process,
and for the life of the build-
ing. Danelaw LR120 and
LR150 have been designed
to be affordable and effec-
tive. They minimise the risk
from the harmful effects of
interstitial condensation and
wind, snow and wind-driven
rain.
Comprising a three-layer
composite flexible mem-
brane laminated together
using the latest thermal
bonding and ultrasonic
technologies to prevent
delamination, both under-
lays provide an ultra-strong,
durable and easy to install
roof tile and slate under-
lay, making it suitable for
warm or cold pitched roof
applications. As well as this,
they can either be draped
unsupported over rafters
and counter battens, or fully
supported on timber sarking
or rigid insulation boards.
Incorporating all these
useful features, both the
Danelaw LR120 and LR150
membranes are available in
two roll widths, in addition
to optional integral tapes
for fast and effective sealing
of the laps. This not only
ensures that it is quick and
easy to install and capable
of resisting problems associ-
ated with wind uplift, but it
does not require additional
battens at the laps. Wastage
is also reduced and the in-
stallation is compliant with
all the latest requirements.

TIME-SAVING DOOR
HANDLE INSTALLATION
An innovative device that
fits door handles in under five
minutes has won an international
design award.
Ossett-based Dale Hardware won
a Red Dot award for JigTech Pro,
which it developed in partnership
with Sheffield-based product devel-
opment specialist AME Group.
AME senior mechanical de-
signer Ben Wilkinson and Dale
Hardware joint managing direc-
tor Daniel Monaghan collected
the award at a gala ceremony
attended by 1,200 international
guests in Essen, Germany.
The JigTech system saves
contractors and fitters around
20 minutes when installing door
handles and latches. An adjusta-
ble latch bore and self-centering
clamp system guide the user
when drilling, eliminating the
need to measure and mark by
hand.
The international Red Dot jury
reviewed 5,500 products from 54
countries. It concluded: “Its high
utility value and intuitive usability
make the JigTech Pro jig instal-
lation tool a convincing product
solution.”
