Road Trip for
Network Veka
Members
A trip to Germany saw 45 members, staff and
friends of Network VEKA head over to VEKA
AG from all corners of the UK and Ireland.
While the majority of delegates travelled via regional airports, a number of
committed motorcyclists
made the trip on their
beloved bikes. Dennis
Sumner from Force 8, Sue
and Phil Chick from Delta
Plastics, Austin Greene
from Assure, and Assure
Inspector Graham Leonard
each journeyed on two
wheels.
Network VEKA MD John Ogilvie, who was on the trip, explains:
“The entire group was welcomed
by Global VEKA Group Executive Board Member Mr Bonifatius Eichwald for a presentation
about the history of the VEKA
worldwide group.
“Network VEKA’s Brand Ambassador Steve Davis took the
opportunity to play Dr Werner
Schuler, also a member of the
Executive Board in a ‘best of five’
game of pool (which Dr Schuler
won 3-2!) before he entertained
us all with one or two of his best
trick shots.
“We were keen to thank our
hosts for their warm welcome

along with a trophy for their win
in the pool competition.
“We rounded the trip off with

A Double-Double For Synseal
Echoing last year’s achievement, Synseal
has been named as a double finalist once
again at the upcoming G15 Awards.
Global Glass, Synseal’s
insulated glass manufacturing division,
is a finalist for Glass
Company of the Year.
Since being established
in November 2011, Global
Glass has rapidly become
a £20 million business unit
operating from three plants
in Huthwaite, Blackburn
and Wigan supplying high
quality IGUs made to
customer specification, including Synseal’s exclusive
value-adding and thermally-efficient Celsius performance glass.
The second category for
which Synseal has been
shortlisted is Trade Marketing Campaign of the Year.
Synseal’s creative marketing campaign for Celsius
Solid Roof was designed
to grab attention and
clearly convey key technical aspects of the system,
with an element of fun,
using animals to illustrate.
Launched in April 2015,
this integrated B2B campaign delivered high levels
of visual impact to achieve
market stand-out versus
competitive offerings and
included print and digital
media to raise awareness
across the Trade in a short
period of time.
“It is very satisfying for
us to be recognised as a
double-double finalist at
the prestigious G Awards,”
comments Synseal’s Head
of Marketing, Mark Schlotel. “We enjoy taking part
with three submissions
presented to the judges
each year and, as the old
song goes, two out of three
ain’t bad!”

macker restaurant and a night
out in Düsseldorf Old Town.
“It was a great chance for
members to get together in a
light-hearted, social atmosphere,
while sharing their ideas and
experiences. The trip was a great
combination of ‘educational’ and
‘fun’ and we’ve already received
some fantastic feedback.”
