Glazpart recently exhibited at FIT Show 2025 in Birmingham and launched two new trickle ventilators aimed at making life easier for installers looking for ventilation solutions that will exceed their customers’ expectations.

Meeting homeowners’ demands is one thing but installers should also be mindful of meeting the building regulations especially around the issue of ventilation.

Often the choice of material and compliance with local authority regulations can be tricky, for example in conservation areas or listed buildings. Once the frame and profile material has been agreed upon by all parties the next step is to ensure the ventilation solutions will comply with Building Regulations.

Approved Document F( means of ventilation) in the Building Regulations( England and Wales) changed in June 2022, made it compulsory for companies replacing existing windows and doors, to meet the ventilation requirements to the new standard.

With mechanical ventilation being expensive, inconvenient and time consuming to install, the most practical and affordable way to compliance for both installers and property owners is to install trickle vents to the window and door profiles or frames. Add to this the owner’ s discernment and preferences for a perfect finish and it is easy to see why installers must ensure they get the right ventilation solution.

At FIT Show 2025 in Birmingham, Glazpart added to its trickle vent range with the launch of two new vents manufactured specifically to help installers meet compliance and homeowners’ demands.

The Bi-fold Vent

In keeping with the growth trend in aluminium bi-fold doors, Glazpart has launched a new bi-fold door trickle vent simply called the“ Bi-fold Vent”.

Designed and manufactured specifically for aluminium bi-fold doors this shallow height vent is designed to work within the low hinge stack heights when the doors in a bi-fold system are in the open position.

The product is designed to fit onto the door leaf profile above the IGU( Insulating Glass Unit), which removes the need for expensive knock on profiles above the door frame and interference with the plaster line.

Initially available in White, Black and Anthracite Grey in standard sets, Glazpart will also manufacture bespoke and matching colours to order.

With an equivalent area of 2700 EA per vent, on a 16 mm rout, a standard threedoor Bi-Fold installation will provide a cumulative equivalent area in the room of 8100EA and the Bi-fold Vent will meet the requirements in Approved Document F( means of ventilation) in the Building Regulations.

The Modular Vent

The new Modular Vent is the best trickle vent in the market for watertightness( at 1000 Pa). The Spring Clip fitting( No Screws) saves on installation time and the vent, though one of the shortest width trickle vents available, achieves a 2000 EQA performance for each module fitted. Available in 100s of colour options, the Modular Vent is ideal for windows and doors( made of practically any material). The Modular Vent is ideal for windows installed in heritage buildings.

As well as ensuring full compliance with Building Regulations, Glazpart’ s trickle vent colours are also extremely stable and durable with the vents holding their colour through constant exposure to extreme and constant elements of weather, without noticeable fading.
