Fenestration marketing group reaches 100 employees
The Ascot Group , a marketing services group that serves the glazing industry , has attained a major milestone reaching 100 employees .
The group includes Purplex Marketing , Insight Data and the Glazing Summit conference , and was founded by industry veteran Andrew Scott in 2004 .
Andrew commented : “ Only 0.3 % of the 5.5 million businesses in the UK reach 100 employees so it ’ s a very special milestone , and it follows 20 % year-on-year growth as we help even more customers achieve their goals .”
Andrew started in the window , door and conservatory industry 35 years ago , and over that time has acquired , built and sold several companies . He developed the business strategy that propelled super-fabricator Cambrian Windows from 100 to 3,000 frames per week in 36 months , before it was acquired by U . S . Fortune 500 company , Masco .
Today Andrew is a leading consultant to some of the industry ’ s biggest companies . His marketing company , Purplex , specialises in brand strategy and lead generation , while Insight Data provides almost 1000 users across the industry with in-depth market intelligence , research and marketing data .
Andrew added : “ Over the last 35 years I ’ ve seen the industry evolve and adapt and it ’ s been a pleasure to work with , advise or support many of the industry ’ s most successful companies and leaders .
“ I ’ ll be bringing all of our combined knowledge and expertise together when we host the Glazing Summit conference later in the year , but in the meantime we ’ ll continue to invest in people and support our customers .”

”
make it accessible to all .
Over the course of five days , the students are tasked to meet a sustainable design brief that involves designing a brand , product , marketing video and start-up business plan .
The young people develop their creative skills , as they are required to make their own products using recycled materials . These include high quality wooden boxes , which were previously used for transporting integral blind systems , along with plywood sheets provided by Morley Glass . Sami teaches the students handicraft , graphic design and digital fabrication skills and they learn essential business skills too , enabling them to cost out their products with a view to making a profit at retail .
At the end of the week , each team presents in ‘ Dragon ’ s Den ’ style to pitch their creations to an expert panel of judges who are successful entrepreneurs themselves . And if the teams are happy with their finished products , they can then go on to sell them to their previously identified target market should they want to .
