PANDEMIC PROPERTY BOOM GOOD NEWS FOR INSTALLERS , CDW SYSTEMS GROUP CHAIRMAN

Sky-high house prices and economic uncertainty will be good news for installers as it means that home improvements will remain an attractive proposition for homeowners .
That ’ s the view of Jeremy Phillips , Group Chairman of Gloucester-based aluminium specialists CDW Systems .
Building society Nationwide revealed that figures show a 20 per cent rise in house prices in the two years since the coronavirus pandemic began and the average home is up £ 29,000 over the past year alone .
They also showed the cost of the average home has jumped £ 44,000 to £ 260,000 over the past two years , with house price inflation hitting 12.6 % in February . According to Jeremy , this is going to mean home improvements
are going to stay centre stage as homeowners struggle to make the move – and sales at CDW Systems are backing that view up .
“ A house price boom has driven the cost of a home relative to wages up from already elevated levels and with homeowners unable to afford a new home , they will be staying put ,” said Jeremy .
“ The market will be further dampened by the cost-of-living crisis and the current economic uncertainty caused by world events . It ’ s no surprise we are seeing demand for our bi-fold doors and roof lights rising .”
CDW Systems ’ smooth sliding aluminium bifold door from Aluk
is designed to provide a maximum opening width with minimum intrusion on interior floor space and each door leaf neatly folds back and can be designed to slide either to the left or the right .
Bringing natural light into the home all year round , CDW Systems ’ Aliver Rooflight system is a fixed , flat solution featuring an elegant and unobtrusive aluminium frame and a unique , concealed fixing system which makes the rooflight fast and easy to install .
“ Those more premium lifestyle products , as well as our sliding patio doors and Designer Doors , are in demand as homeowners
continue to want the very best , with our roof lights and bi-fold doors a great combination when teamed up together ,” added Jeremy . “ This is only going to increase as more homeowners decide to improve instead of move .”
The trade and commercial fabricator offers full technical back up and customer assistance on all products , as well as UK delivery direct to the customer .
Established in 1992 , CDW Systems is one of the UK ’ s longest running aluminium specialists , and its expertise and extensive market knowledge has seen it grow into one of the most well-respected specialists in the trade supply of aluminium window , door , and curtain wall products . FREEFOAM SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT STOCKISTS

Freefoam are proud to release a new video as part of its ongoing Helping Customers Grow campaign , featuring Nottingham based business Jayplas Building Supplies .
The campaign is part of Freefoam ’ s strategic marketing plan to shine a light on its customer base and show how both supplier and manufacturer are working together to build long term relationships and grow business . Freefoam ’ s route to market is to predominantly supply independent stockists . Companies who are specialist PVC suppliers with extensive knowledge of this specific part of the building trade , and who have strong local connections . Often owner managed , with an entrepreneurial spirit to make things happen , the campaign provides the platform to showcase these businesses and explain
how Freefoam works with and supports its customers .
Jayplas Building Supplies is one such business . Started in 2010 by Jaime Nield , Jayplas is a typical example of a Freefoam customer who has grown year on year . Selling the core roofline range , as well as external cladding and internal panelling ,
Jayplas have a broad customers base , from small to medium sized builders , though to double glazing and conservatory companies . In the video Jaime explains that he chose Freefoam as his supplier over others because of both the brand loyalty from his installer customers and Freefoam ’ s route to market - to predominantly supply independent suppliers .
Jaime explained : “ I ’ d previously sold Freefoam products before I set up my own business so I knew that installers liked the product . They are loyal to the Freefoam brand , and are used to installing it . We like that Freefoam have added products to their range over the years , including external cladding and internal bathroom panels as it gives us other markets to tap in to .” Jaime receives regular visits from his Area Sales Manager Simon Parkes and also benefits from the knowledge and expertise
of Richard Jackson , Freefoam ’ s Sales Director . He explains : “ I can only see a positive future . We ’ ve been dealing with Freefoam for 12 years and I can ’ t see why that wouldn ’ t continue ”
Colin St John , Freefoam Commercial Director summarised : “ We are proud to be the main supplier to so many successful businesses . And this campaign , that uses a variety of mediums including video , PR , social media and print advertising , gives us a powerful platform to highlight the benefits of partnering with Freefoam .
